I KNOW THIS IS LONG, BUT IT’S VERY IMPORTANT SO READ EVERYTHING!!!
Alright everyone, I have a dilemma! MY POOR BABY IS DYING!!! DX We need to get this place back up and running! But in order to do that, I know we need to make some drastic changes. I’ve been thinking about it hard, and even though I think I know what I want to do… I dunno, I’m just stuck. And of course this roleplay doesn’t only belong to me. It belongs to all of us, and I won’t make any decisions without your input.
Now this discussion is too big for a poll so I will be numbering off each problem and when you reply, put your answers/ideas beside the right number so we can keep this clean and organized (hope that made sense :P)
1.) General board vs. Multiple [/u] I think what contributed most to the lack of activity was the multiple rooms to rp in. And tagging. I find tagging has really killed the rp. We aren't all rping with each other anymore, just who our characters are closest with. I miss when we use to all rp random and silly things together. Our characters aren’t interacting as much anymore, but if we switched back to a general board where we are all roleplayed in the same spot then we can get back to doing those silly random things. If we switch to the general board, we could still keep tagging if people have a plot going on. We’ll decide this when the time comes though.
So here are your choices: Go back to a general board or Stick to the multiple rooms and tagging.
2.) Which is the better site for us? [/u] I have been thinking whether or not proboards was such a good idea. Even though I got so pissed off at FanFiction for deleting our threads, I kinda miss it and want to return there. So I made up a pros and cons list of both proboards and FanFiction, so please read through all of it, and think about it carefully. Where we go is probably the biggest decision we have to make here.
Proboards Pros - It’s pretty: The greatest thing about the site is being able to have our own theme. It makes it unique and appealing. I don’t think I really need to elaborate on this XD
- Easy to save threads: Again, self-explanatory :b
- Cbox: An easy way to chat with your fellow rp’ers! It’s quick and fast. The only downside is that it costs money to keep it running good.
Cons - No newbies: Proboards is a very private site and the only way to find it is if you actually google the name of it. It’s pretty much impossible for new people to join.
- Coding: This one is basically for me XD Getting the site to look nice and cool is a lot of work and I get quite frustrated with it. I get bored of themes easily too, so if I didn’t have to deal with it at all that would be quite lovely. Plus coding can screw up really easily.
- Too big: If we switch over to a general board, I believe that proboards might be a little too big for that. This isn’t really a big issue, but I thought I’d point it out, lol.
FanFiction Pros - Simple and Clean: FanFiction is much easier to use, and I think more organized. It’s easier to find things, and is a fairly good size.
- Newbies: Although noobs can be annoying at times, I think they are very important. Since FanFiction is so widely known, we can finally get some new people joining in; people whose characters we can both have fun with and annoy XD or we can meet new people and make new friends. We have lost so many people, I think it’s about time getting some new Vampire.
- History: The roleplay was born about 4-5 years ago (I think) when I just randomly decided I wanted to make a Twilight roleplay. There I met TL, LM and Dahlia. TL and I just happened to stumble on another Twilight roleplay that had died and she decided that together we should make another forum. So we did, and the Night Coven was slowly born! And this is how we all meet you lovely people ;) And I’ve been able to mature my writing skills, because I’m pretty embarrassed at how I use to write when I first began (I’m sure I’m not the only one XD). Now, I’m not really sure if people care about this as much as I do, but to me I think that’s why I still cherish FanFiction, because without it we wouldn’t be where we are today and I wouldn’t have made such amazing friends <3
Cons - Deleting threads: FF had made the new rule where if a topic was more than 9 months old and hadn’t been replied in (even if it was full and locked) it would be deleted, which was the cause of our move to proboards. I’m not entirely sure if the rule still applies, because I recently checked on the old forum and one of the topics was lasted replied in March 2010, so it has been over a year and it hasn’t been deleted. If we do move back to FanFiction, I have a way around to avoid getting them deleted. What I purpose is that the very last post within the topic be saved, and after a few months, it will be deleted and reposted so it seems like the topic was just replied in not too long ago and FanFiction won’t delete it (I think that’ll work XD Only one way to find out!)
And if people really want to, you can just save your favourite moments in the topics into a word doc so you can reread it there (I find it easier to do that anyway). If not, LM and I were thinking about copying and pasting the topics into proboards.
If we do decide to move to FanFiction, we can still use proboards for the alternate universes.
So which do you prefer? Proboards or FanFiction
3.)Turning the clock forward! [/u] This is just a tiny little thing that I thought of. I think it would be best for the coven if we did a 1 year time skip. It’ll let our characters have a break, and I think if we do this then we can get back into some epic plots. I kinda got sick of them because they were so squished together, but I think if we did a time skip then our characters can have some peace; the calm before the storm! >;D We don’t need to do any epic plots right away of course, but still I think a time skip would be nice.
So what do you think? Time Skip or No
4.) Moving the Coven [/u] We moved the Coven to the castle almost 2 years ago (hard to believe it’s been that long :P), but I’m kinda thinking about maybe moving them somewhere else. Living in a castle is kinda… unrealistic. The Coven doesn’t have an unlimited amount of money, and I’m sure that place is sucking them dry! And I was thinking about changing their location too. We don’t really know anything about the area, or about the culture over in England either, so maybe we should move them somewhere else. Back to America? Or maybe Canada? We know those places a lot better than in Europe. I think it would be even cool just to make up our own place somewhere over there, in some wilderness near some fake town we can create. It would be kinda fun, they can live in some manor or maybe we could build another house.
So do we want to move? Yes – If so, where? A real place or a creation of our own? or No
I will give people a week to reply to this, or until enough people have responded. So please reply as quickly as you can so we can finally get the show on the road!

1. General board. Nuff said.
2. You pretty much summed it up with the pros. My vote's going to have to be Fanfiction for this one.
3. We've always rp'd in the present day, so to do a time-skip, even by one year, feels a little weird. Um, I'll vote...er, no time-skip. I know that's different than what I told Divi in PM...but I just feel like a time-skip would be sort of awkward to rp. Like, what happened to them that whole last year? Part of the attraction of rping these guys is the present-day aspect to things. Yeah, the plots have been a little squished up, but apart from Elfie and Apple’s plot that’s going on right now, there hasn’t actually been that much plotting in the past few months. So the coven has gotten a short break.
4. :O This is my favorite question for some odd reason. Yes, let's move! As to where, my suggestion is some random woodsy place XDD Colorado and Missouri come to mind, but Illinois is also woody in some areas (and also my home state *biased*) I wouldn't mind Canada either, as long as we can find some kind of info with Divi and Elfie's help XD I mean, I've never been to Canada, but I hear it's coldish there since it's further north. I have no idea if that's true, so that sort of thing would have to be cleared up for us non-Canadians :P Anyways, wherever the general location winds up being, I like the idea of creating a fake town to be near it. None of us really know much about Worchester or London or that other town we have listed in England, so to make it up ourselves means we get full freedom to decide what kind of people live there (ethnicity, amount of people, language, etc.) and get to pick town names and all that fun stuff. As to whether to build a house or buy one, er, I’m going to go with buy. Let’s be honest, how many people in the coven know the first thing about building a house? XDDD I can just picture them botching the job up horribly in numerous ways and then they all have to sleep under boards until Merik can hire a real construction team to make the house. Hey, that’s an idea. A construction team could build the place. Building or buying works.

1.) Why are we not allowed both? Frankly, in general, people are still going to rp like tagging - but not to such a great extent, I mean, it'll be basically the same thing, I think having the options to tag people in certain locations is useful and neat when we want to get something done, say fluff or a plot, or just something. Both.
2.) Again, I vote Both...and this is probably becoming irritating. Oops. I say this to back my reasoning for #1. Easily, we have everything organized using both FanFiction and Proboards - we have general roleplaying and tagging roleplaying, not to mention neat archives for our favourite threads and the possibility of further Au's - most of these things can be separated from the base rp, giving us more creative freedom to do as we wish. I'm just a freak that enjoys being organized, alright? Don't judge me.
3.) I vote Time Skip, but not an entire year. I support the idea of a time skip (obviously), since then we won't have to come up with an explanation of their sudden absent (other than the player themselves being gone). However, an entire year seems too long for me. I'm uncomfortable with such a large gap - 6 months, perhaps? - but I would be perfectly alright with a slightly smaller one.
4.) Yes - I still say Alaska, just cause.. Of course, it'll have to be in a real place - it's still on the Earth, isn't it? Or can they suddenly become aliens? I'M BEHIND THIS ALL THE WAY~ We should all decide on a place we know comfortably well - so, I say either America or Canada, willing Elfie and Divi don't mind us badgering them for details and whatnot on the weather. Another reason why I vote for both. If, you're willing Divi, we could get a Weather Gadget for the general area of the location so we know what the climate is like and how it'll affect our characters put up on here. I believe it should be near enough of a real place for us to know the culture, but the town/city/whatisit will be entirely created out of collaboration with every member (or those willing - which I would hope include everyone - whatever. I can't fly to your house and force you to reply....though, that does sound tempting..) I say America, and somewhere in Colorado because I've been there and it is absolutely beautiful! Seriously, it's full of mountains and it'll be the perfect place to have a vampire coven this big - the town/minicitything would be secluded enough to allow them privacy but in civilization enough for them to be still surrounded by unsuspecting humans (or the stray vampire). Opens an entire new world of possibilities if they also built the house, since no one is going to not raise an eyebrow at the number of rooms they'll need. And...I think if they actually didn't try to swallow any of the nails, they'll be in pretty good shape... for a little while, I hope....willing they know the least bit about architect praying to god. Plus, if we rp the building, or at least the near-end, of it at the end of the time skip, we could all bury Ira at least once. C'MON~ WE CAN'T PASS THIS UP.
Btw, Hello.

1. I think that having multiple boards help me know where the heck I am half of the time, but I think there should not be a ny subtopics. It gets confusing because I dont really want to interrupt anyone's good moments.
2. The thing that is the most trouble is not getting newbies, is to assimilate as a newbie. I still feel liek a newbie even though ive been here more than a couple of months...i just don't know who to rp with cause everyone has a partner, or a couple or something.....
3. Both forums have great things....i like the themes and stuff here, but maybe the proboards forum should be a compliment to the fanfiction forum, and we can save the threads in proboards for later reviewing.

1. As much fun as the tagging can be there are no more awkward walks in, or random people popping up in random places. So general board with plot need tagging. 2. This is got to be the hardest decision of all-them. They all have very big and very different pros and cons, but in the end I think that the only major problem with FF was the deletion of our post. And though being more secluded and not having to deal with FF’s random shut down days and all their technical errors have been nice the lack of noobs is killing us. So in the end I think I have to say Fanfiction, no matter how much more we love proboards.
3. I have to agree with Nyx. I like the idea of a minor time skip, but a whole year is kind of long. Especially if we do make a move then we can have a time skip and simply skip all the boring packing, and the blah blahs of moving and simply come in towards the end of their moving process making it almost a clean slate to start on.
4. So my 3 and 4 kind of overlap, but going into the actual moving part I like the idea of moving. And a mountain like area actually makes a lot of sense, kind of hard to build on for a whole bunch of amateurs, but a reasonable place for a group of vampires. Also the Canada/America thing is probably the most reasonable things especially since with the amount of people we have lost I don’t think there is anybody left who doesn’t know at least one of the two. Though I have to say no to make up a random place, at least making up a completely random place. I mean yes maybe not a specific city or something like that, but one of the great things about the RP was simple the fact that minus the fantasy like stuff it’s a very realistic story, and making up a place just takes away from that real life aspect.

1. I really miss a general board! Like. Lots. But it's also nice to be able to get something roleplayed and over with without someone popping in. I mean...we could always ignore them.. x3
2. As much as I love making pretty posts and having different colours I would like FanFiction. This site is a lot of work for you, and then coding our messages makes replying take longer and so rping something wouldn't go by as fast as needed. And I like dah newbs >:3
3. I have to side with Nyxie and Bellsies. I like the idea of getting things going, but a year seems a tad too long.
4. YES! Move le coven! Creating our own town *would* be fun, but if we go back to FF noobs may be confused about our fake town and know nothing of it. Maybe we could make a town near a real town. ;D Like a little town where if you blink ya' miss it, then a few miles down the road you hit another town. But it also depends. Do we want to go to a town, or a city?

BRINGING THE FORUM BACK TO LIFE, WOO~ 1. General board all the way. I never liked the multiple room locations anyway because it made it that much more difficult to move from one place to another without switching up the rooms you're rping in - which always annoyed me because I wouldn't know where to read to continue the thread unless someone linked us at the end. And that hardly ever happened. 1a - Another thing I'm glad Niko pointed out: I don't want us to seem like we're used to roleplaying with just one person. The whole point of the rp was so that a lot of people can play together and get to know each other and that more than one person can join in at freedom without feeling alienated. Tagging kind of ruins this point. 1b - With that ^ said, I want to keep tagging specifically because there are some things that people might want to keep between themselves without being interrupted by, to quote Bells, "awkward walks in". *Also, there are just some things you can't roleplay on fanfiction - though, thankfully, we haven't had any problems with anything with extreme ratings 2. I agree with Nyx in saying we should keep both, but with conditions: - We move back to fanfiction with the intention of making it the main roleplay. I am all for moving back to fanfiction because it will make us accessible for more new people and it really is much simpler
- I want to keep proboards for the sole purpose of allowing people the freedom to roleplay threads they deem important to them with whoever they want - whether they want to limit it to one person or three others. Although I believe tagging may have been the main contributer to the dying of the forum, I think it is important that we allow options to the Vampire of our roleplaying community
- IF we decide to keep both places - which I hope we do, I want more people to roleplay on fanfiction. Again, I stress that the rp is for everyone to roleplay together. If you do tag on probards, I would like it to be kept to a minimum, please
- On a more unimportant note, I know next to nothing about coding and such, so I don't want to force anyone else to deal with it xD [mainly Senpai b/c she deals with it all]
3. I'm also on board with the time-skip plan. I don't want it to be for one year, either, though. It takes time and planning to move, and I would have to deal with all of that because I rp Merik xD Just muck this decision on my part up to laziness, mia culpa. But for the most part, it would get things going. I think I wouldn't mind having Merik meet up with everyone else's characters to let them know he's interested in moving them to another place - so it would be very helpful to me if you guys helped me out with coming up with ideas that would make him come to this decision, things like: - Income
- Human suspicion
- Another drop in animal population
- Boredom/want of different surroundings[?]
If we're going along with the idea that the Volturi are going to become involved again by re-adding the Twilight aspect of the rp, Volturi suspicion
*Again, this is optional for helping me, not a call for mandatory response XD 4. I don't know about making up a new town, but I'm not completely opposed to the idea. What I think would be best, is if they found a location out of the way and with a lot of seclusion. Maybe they could purchase a heap of land somewhere in the middle of nowhere, but still be close enough to civilisation that the opportunity of running into another new person isn't out of the question. I don't like the idea of them moving to any place with too many humans. [Kind of off-topic, but still worth mentioning] With a coven as large as the NC, I think there would be the added problem with the possibility of creating more vampires - and though I hate to say this, I think I might need to make Merik talk to the others about trying to stop this altogether. I know it has already been an unspoken rule, but I don't want the potential noobies to think that our vampires are going to be willing to change their characters in order for them to join the coven.
I like the idea of them building a new house, or a series of houses, but like Spazzy said, I don't think our characters possess the skills needed to do said construction [xD]. If you guys wanted to, we can have them trying to start, but things don't go as planned [ and Nyx, I'm not at all opposed to having Ira buried in the process :b]. Once they realise the challenge they brought upon themselves, I think we can agree on having someone else build it for them. 5. LM'S ADDEDNESS~- One draw-back to using FF would be that I thought it was bothersome to have summaries to keep everyone else updated on what was going on because of the constant on-going time, so I'm not sure that we're going to add that back. If we feel we need it to be implemented again, I might ask everyone to summarise what happens to their characters here on proboards so it isn't such a hassle for the mods - and again, we may not even worry about it
- Speaking of the constant on-going time, I think we would need to go back to that - which means, to the people who weren't here for this for very long, like Niko :3 , that the forum on fanfiction will proceed like any day in rl, but not on an hour-to-hour basis
- About the making up a town, I don't think this would be such a huge problem if we make sure it is in the description of the rp, and make a topic with descriptions of the town depending on what we all agree on (: If we don't decide to do this, then I think we should use thorough research on what town we use so we know what we're dealing with
AND DONE! Thank you all for taking the time to read over my reply :3 andivereallymissedyouguise

1. General board totally. If people don't start the topic themselves and then tag people no one actually bothers to rp. And usually people just check the topics that seem important. It's also a bother to check when people replied instead of getting them instantly and being messaged about it. More motivation.
But it's also nifty for organizing stuff when you want to rp in a certain place so people don't get confused. Or for plots that are solely meant for a couple rpers.
I would say keep both just for plot's sake, but otherwise I would stick to the general board. (and also for the alternate universes (that never started) but you could always move those to FF if needed)
2. Basically what I said in number 1 goes for here too. I do like FF because there's no need for coding and everything else.....I just need to remember my password XD
I do like the fact that you can see all the replies of a page on here though, it makes rping a lot easier. However, FF is a lot more community based and seemed to have a longer life span than here XD
I guess you can keep both, just in case people want to rp something without having to end it if someone has to leave. The whole irl timing can get difficult for certain scenarios so those with different time zones can come here to rp something they want to finish, or if someone has to leave early or something like that.
3. A time skip sounds great, though a year sounds like too much time, I would leave it to a couple months like maybe 5-6. It'll get people more excited about rping.
4. A coven move does sound good and I love the idea of a town we create beside larger ones. If it would be possible to get the input of other rpers in creating it it would take off a lot of pressure on the mods.
The houses also make it easier to add people to the coven without a whole thing about an odd growing number of rooms. Houses get built all the time.
I would prefer somewhere in America or a more rural Ontario, just so that people can also rp in actual cities without the distances being completely ridiculous. There's a lot nearby if we decide to have them live more on the outskirts of big cities so it works out well. And yes, I will have all the details about Ontario XD *gets badgered relentlessly*
Just some other things, I don't feel like the Twilight setting really worked for us, especially with the canon which sorta died, so the whole setting we have now we should keep. It holds close enough to Twilight so it will still attract newbs but it's a little easier and more fun the way we have it now.
And *lehugseveryonehere* I'm done.

1. General board. 2. Fanciction, but keep this one for alternate universe. I know this one may seem easier, but the fact is, we maxed how many threads on there and how many on here? It wasn't easiest to keep up with, but everyone felt included. 3. Time skip!! Year is fine with me. We've done longer before. And it can be good for personal character plots. Maybe something dramatic happened. And your character is all messed up. Plenty to rp and allude to 4. Move back to either America of Canada. Either build or by a house, or find some old abandoned small town and inhabit it and make it pretty again

1) I'm general board all the way. I miss RP'ing with everyone. I liked being able to just click back and read a few pages to understand whats going on. I'm not completely against having a few sub topics, but it's much harder without a summary or any indication of whats going on. 2) I like both to be honest, and I think that with proper advertising and just ONE general board, that we could really use proboards to the fullest. But if the advertising doesn't work, then FF would be the forums best bet. I would just miss being able to pretty-a-fy all my post . But I'm really going both ways for this part. 3) YES!! A year time skip is soooo needed. I think it could really be utilized for character development and an explanation for absences. Characters could have been faced with obstacles during the year and it could have changed them for the better or worse. A time skip would definitely spice up the RP. 4) Yes. ^_^ The Castle was fun at first, but hosues are so much more realistic. It is a supernatural RP but in general means, we were taking the RP off the Earth. Some of the stuff that we did were like . I think that when we move it should be like to a very large uninhabited part of Alaska. The Coven could build their own little houses for each character. Or create like an apartment complex. This is a bit contradictory because it'd be hard creating seperate rooms for each character in a general board, so maybe one big manor would suffice. But rooms would randomly appear just like in the castle :/ * I think that we need to add a more serious element to the RP or have like a serious or different Alternate Universes. Because another reason in my opinion why the RP got a bit bland is because all the characters seemed happy go lucky ALL the time. Like they didn't have a care in the world. * If not a serious element is added, maybe make some antagonism in the RP.

OKAY!
I have a proposition for you guys, and if there are three positives we'll unlock the FF forum ASAP!
Since the prep for the forum seems to be taking so long because the mods are busy [boo ): so sorry guys], we think it would be a good idea to let the coven vacation near the area they're going to live in until the deal for the move is finalised. Paperwork can be narsty business :b Anyway! Who likes the idea of a minivay in the Porcupine Mountains?! They'll have an all-access paid stay in a skiing resort until we can finish up with the minor - but necessary - details for the town.
Aaaaaaaaaand now you can reply! GOGOGOG! ^o^

I still don't like the idea of the time-skip But I do like the idea of the mini-vay, it'll let them get used to America, especially the big change in time-zone. XD Plus, maybe it could be said that they found a buyer for the castle who wanted them out sooner rather than later or something? Just an idea there.
