"I got it!" Jess beamed at her wonderful idea. She skipped over to the cupboards and pulled out a bag of instant coffee, and pouring it into the coffee machine on the counter, she squinted, for a moment, looking around for the right buttons to press. Once she had the machine going she turned around, beaming in the dark. It was the perfect excuse to make coffee. "Coffee solves all."

Ira had to admit that Callista had a pretty good reason for eating, feeling a bit down that he had been duped by a child. "No, little one, I'm not sick, but I'm sure that if I were to eat anything you did, I would be," he informed her, seeing as he was only really supposed to be surviving on blood. Obviously, his alcohol consumption did nothing to help with his well being, except to delute his blood intake and make him weaker. At her suggestions of a game, he sighed, realising there really was no way out of this, so he nodded his consent. "How about something a little more tame and quiet?" he suggested absently, turning to watch Jess busy herself with the coffee maker. "I've never had coffee..." he said quietly, scooting off of the table top so he could perch lightly into the seat beside it.

Jess turned around with a horrified gasp at the statement. "You poor, depraved child!" she patted his shoulder soothingly, rubbing at her eyes as if she were mourning the fact of his deprivation. "Well then never to late to start." At that, the coffee maker dinged, and, beaming again Jess grabbed two mugs from the top cupboard above her head, and poured the steaming drink into the mugs, handing Ira one.

"I really don't know any games quieter than jenja...all you do is make a tower with blocks and keep taking them from the bottom so that they dont fall...."She said scrunching up her nose trying to think of a quiter game. "Ohhh! We cold make valentine cards...?"She asked smiling. She had lowered her voice, because he mentioned quiet, so she figured he would like that.

Ira's expression was unreadable when he heard Jess' statement, and he crossed his arms while staring at the mug of coffee she offered him. "I'm hardly what you'd call a 'child'," he sniffed, still eyeing the steaming drink in front of him. He had to admit that he was curious, but the fact that it wasn't red put him off... but on the otherhand, she had poured the cup especially for him, he should at least have the decency to accept it. "Thank you," he told her with a smile, his eye still on her when he took his first sip. He froze. He wasn't exactly sure what to make of the liquid, but he wasn't going to bluntly say he didn't care for it, so he forced himself to swallow it and nodded his head. "Very interesting, to say the least. Alas, I have a playdate," he replied, turning to set the mug on the table before him to face the little halvie child. "I would get sick because my body isn't made for that kind of consumption. I drink blood," he informed, thinking it best to leave out that he preferred human - and that they had to stay alive while he drank. He nodded his consent when she suggested Jenga, seeing as she was intent on playing it. "Would you care to join us?" he offered to Jess. "It appears we're also making Valentine cards. Will you be mine?" he asked her, sending her a sly smile as he offered her the chair next to him.

Jess nodded with a smile as a 'your welcome', and began cleaning up the mess she had made in the dark while making the coffee. Though when Ira explained to the young girl about his very strict diet, she immediately cringed in embarrassment. She hadn't known. Whoops, better watch out for that next time. Turning around with a sheepish smile after her cleaning job was done, she nodded with enthusiasm to humor the child. "Sounds fun," she said. "Why don't you run upstairs and go get the game?" she nodded in suggestion towards the stairs.
"Valentine's Day cards?" Jess asked, almost in thought to herself. She hadn't known the holiday was coming up that quick, which reminded her that she should probably get started on her gifts if she was giving any, which she usually ended up doing anyway. "Uhm, uh, sure! Partnering up will get this done in no time! Heh...heh..." she replied, almost blushing, adjusting her ponytail in a slight nervous manner. She was thankful for the dark, she had never really been good around flirts. She smiled in thanks at the seat she was offered, and sat down, waiting for Callista to return with the game and whatever else she would find for the cards.

"NO, Shyie!! Like thiiiis." Bou demonstrated the stroke for the umpteenth time.
Shya, utterly frustrated, tossed the icing bag complete with the petal tip attached onto the table. "This is so stupid! How the hell do you do that?!"
Bou sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose with his index finger and thumb. In his hand he held a flower pin with an icing rose perched on top. He had been trying to teach Shya how to make one, because she wished to make a cupcake with a rose on it for Thomas since Valentine's day was coming up. However, things weren't going too good for the two blondies.
Dyre was sitting at the table with them, however, and stared at all the little roses Bou had made, which now sat on a peice of baker's parchment paper. He was resting his head on his crossed arms, resisting the urge to just lick one.
"I don't get it Bou-bear." Shya whimpered softly. She got frustrated when she didn't get things right away.
"I know, I know." Bou bit his bottom lip gently, before closing his eyes. He took a deep breath. "Okay, let's try this again." He waited for Shya to pick up her icing bag and flower pin, then he guided her hand to make the rose. It came out lopsided, but that didn't really matter much when Shya started jumping up and down wildly. "I DID IT, I DID IT! DY, I DID IT!" She held out the pin to a now-alert Dyre. As soon as she did, though, it slid off (Being as the icing hadn't set yet) and squished it's self on the floor.
"OH, FIDDLESTICKS!"

Grace entered the kitchen rapidly, and quickly sat down, needing to breathe. The vampire was nervous and she was right to be. By coming here, she could be endangering everyone. What was she thinking. She was so enthralled by the little girl, by Merik's respectfulness, by Sid's friendship, she forgot she was on the run. Never stay in one place to long. She reprimanded herself. That almost-decapitation attack should have made her learn her lesson.
