(This couldn't fit into the title, but this topic is closed ^^)
After having been here for about two weeks now Jim still hadn't had too much luck in doing what he'd been planning to do for a while. It had taken him a while to finally find a place where he could be alone with her that seemed perfect for asking her what he'd been planning to ask her for a while.
Today he decided to take a walk with Cassie, planning on sort of wandering around aimlessly for a little while, before leading her to this little stream in a small wooded area that he'd found when he'd gone wandering around after leaving to run an errand or two. There was a certain look about him that made him look excited, nervous, and just plain happy at times, but he was hoping that Cassie wouldn't be suspecting anything.
After wandering around with her, sightseeing things that they hadn't seen yet, he decided to start leading them to their final destination. He interlaced their fingers, having been holding her hand, and began leading her in the direction they needed to go, a backpack slung across his back, carrying everything he needed for the little picnic he was planning. "Well that was certainly an interesting place to go to, wasn't it?" he asked with a smile. He was really enjoying his time alone here with Cassie. "I think you're going to like where we're going next," he added next after an afterthought.

Cassie, with a big grin on her face giggled. "I think I'm more partial to the place and people though," she winked at him, skipping ahead, still holding his hand. "We've been lucky, those clouds have been hanging in there for the past few days," she shielded her eyes to look ahead.

Jim chuckled with a smile at what Cassie said and shook his head in amusement. "That I'd have to agree with." Sure he'd been loving Paris so far, but it needed some getting used to for him, while Cassie just fit right in, seeing as she had lived there for quite some time. At the mention of the weather Jim can't help but to look up at the sky. "Yeah, we certainly have. I just hope that our luck continues to hold," he said, noticing that there seemed to be some dark clouds in the sky a ways from where they were. He continued leading her on, keeping a close watch on the weather.

"Maybe we should have followed your 'always be prepared' advice," Cassie said, attempting an imitation at his voice. "Where we headed captain?"

“Hey, I am actually prepared,” he said, lifting up the sleeve of his jacket on his arm with a smile. “Although I think the clouds might be plotting against us,” he said, whispering into her ear as if he was telling a secret. He thought about her question for a moment before he answered her. “Well…if I told you, it wouldn’t be a secret then, now would it?” he replied with a grin before gently covering her eyes with his hands. “Don’t worry, I won’t let you run into any trees,” he said with a chuckle.
He slowly led her to where he had found the small brook running through the woods with small bunches of flowers along the edge of the river. “Don’t open your eyes yet, kay?” he asked her before removing his hands from over her eyes and darting over to a small grassy area near the brook. He opened up the backpack he’d been carrying and grabbed out a blanket to sit on. He spread it out on the ground and then grabbed the picnic basket from out of the backpack, setting it down on the blanket, before looking over everything. He smiled and quickly checked his pocket, making sure that what he was looking for was there. He then slowly walked up behind Cassie and leaned down next to her ear. “Okay…you can open them now,” he quietly spoke with a smile, waiting to see what her reaction would be.

"Hm, a battle of wits. Good luck with that," Cassie smiled, looking up at the sky. "Next time I'll remember." Rolling her eyes she shrugged a bit, laughing at his answer. "Alright I guess so, but I thought I was the one who was supposed to be showing you around......thanks, though I bet that would be quite the surprise," Cassie said, putting her hands out in front of her to avoid bumping into anything, even though Jim had said he wouldn't let her. Couldn't hurt to be extra careful. "Yes sir!" she saluted, planting her feet square on the ground as if she were afraid they'd move on their own while her eyes were still closed. When Jim said she was allowed to open her eyes she opened them slowly, looking around for where Jim had gone. When she finally spotted him she walked over to him with a big smile. "Wow, this is amazing! When did you decide to do this?" she asked, sitting beside him, giving him a kiss and taking a hold of his hand.

Jim couldn’t help the chuckle that left his lips at Cassie’s observation that she was the one that was supposed to be showing him around. She was right in a sense, but he knew she’d still like his surprise. He grinned when she said his surprise was amazing, or at least so far it was, and gave her a kiss back, intertwining the fingers of their held hands as he pulled back so he could answer her question. “Well I just thought that it’d be nice to surprise you, since you’ve been showing me all sorts of surprising me with some amazing things.” He gave her another kiss before he turned towards the basket and began taking out plates and cups for them as well as the food. He was glad that this was going so well so far.

"Well, consider me colored surprised," Cassie smiled, taking a look at the display. Jim sure knew her well, especially more after this trip. She wouldn't even be surprised if he remembered the name of a few of these things.

Jim smiled when Cassie said she was surprised and at the fact that everything was going great so far. At the phrase "colored surprised" he had a sudden image that made him laugh slightly. "Wait...so you want me to image you rainbow colored? And I'm glad you like it."

Cassie burst into laughter. "No, no! That's not what I meant at all!" she said, picturing the image in her own mind now. "Oh...I probably got the saying wrong again now didn't I?" she giggled, her head dropping with embarrassment.

Jim couldn't help the chuckle that escaped out of his mouth when she Cassie looked embarrassed. He placed a few fingers under her chin and lifted it up so she was looking at him. He smiled softly at her. "It's alright, Cas. I think it's rather cute when you don't say some things quite right," he said before leaning in the briefly kiss her softly. "Besides, I'm sure I'm sure I've gotten wrong my fair share of French phrases as well."

Smiling some Cassie kissed back and then looked at the sky line. "You do have a point there mister," she wiggled her eyebrows mischievously. She wasn't about to tell him which though.....unless he asked that was. She munched on some food as thunder rolled in through the air. "o.o Uh-oh...."

Jim saw Cassie's mischievous expression and had been about to ask what she had been thinking about when he heard the thunder roll in the distance. He cursed mentally and took a look at the sky. It looked like it was going to rain. He wondered if he could still do what he'd be planning to, or if he'd have to wait and plan something again. "Well that doesn't sound too pleasant. I hope it doesn't rain on us." he thought for a moment before deciding to go on anyway and see what happened. "Hey, Cas. Can I talk to you about something?"

Cassie kept her eyes on the sky. "Well if it does...we'll be siiiiiinnnnnnging in the rain!~....Right?" she smiled, doing some jazz hands. Turning to him, she tilted her head, curious. "Yeah of course. " Whatever it was it seemed serious. A couple drops of rain started to fall from the sky.

Jim's seriousness seemed to drop for a moment as he laughed alone with what she said. "That actually sounds like it'd be kinda fun, ya know as long as you don't get water it you eyes." After speaking he took a moment to recollect his thoughts once again. He smiled before speaking. "I've just got to say that I love spending all this quality time with you. I've been able to get to know you even better than I did before and you've taught me a lot of things that I hadn't ever known before. I love you and the way I feel whenever I'm with you." He dug around in his pocket for a moment, making sure something was still in there, and opened his mouth to speak again, but the weather had it out for him. The moment he started to speak a really loud thunder rolled and a raindrop fell into his eye. "Ouch," he said as he the began rubbing his eye, trying to make his eye feel better. It seemed as if he had jinxed himself with this one. (XD)
