Dillan found an old abandoned shack in the woods and decided to hide there away from those that were trying to kill her. "I hope I'm safe here.." she muttered as she sat on the old ratty couch in the shack. She ran her fingers thru her blonde hair, looking at her tattered clothing.

A whiff of something out of place hit Bob’s nose the moment he and his current set of hunters arrived in a forest. “Wait,” he hissed to them, his eyes darting everywhere as he tried to locate the source of the smell. They immediately froze and breathed with him without realizing it. It smelled like a vampire, more specifically, a vampyr. All three heads swiveled when they heard footsteps nearby. They didn’t need to consult each other, they all knew what to do by now. They drew their guns and one of the half-vampires turned to face the rear to guard their backs. Bob and the other half-vampire stalked slowly towards the receding footsteps. They peered at every bush, checked around every trunk. They couldn’t afford to be complacent, even though they were miles from human civilization. Bob held his breath and walked slightly ahead of the two girls, determined not to let them die from some careless mistake.
When he heard a voice, he held his arm out to stop the half-vampire next to him, feeling the other girl walk into his back. Three sets of very good ears listened intently for more, but all they could hear was breathing that came from ahead and to the right. Bob turned around and mimed running with his fingers. The two girls nodded sharply, their guns at the ready position. They were women really, but they were so much younger than him physically that he couldn’t help thinking of them as girls. But there was nothing childlike about the tough expressions on their faces. They were ready to kill.
He held three fingers up. When he had made a fist, the trio darted forward at their fastest. Well, Bob actually went at the same speed as the half-vampires so as to be near them if something happened. Within seconds, they circled the little dirty shack in the woods and stood by the door. Bob glanced at them to make sure they were all on the same page, then he nudged the door open with his foot and darted in, his companions close behind him. Three guns pointed directly at Dillan’s heart, head, and stomach.
(This wasn't intentionally lengthy, honest! XD)

Dillan gasped her blue eyes darting around. "Please dont kill me!" she pleaded, looking at those who were holding guns at her. She kinda figured that there would be someone that wanted to kill her. Cures being above ground with herself being a vampyr.
(It okay! ^^)

The three of them inhaled deeply, checking the scent. She was a vampyr, all right, and not even a new one. Bob was the first to lower his weapon. His intuition was telling him she wasn’t a threat, but he still had to make sure. For all they knew, she was a trap laid to capture them. He glanced about at the shack, taking in every detail. The other two hovered near the door, prepared to bolt if need be. They were not as trusting as Bob. When he moved his hand down in a clear signal, they lowered their guns but kept their eyes trained on Dillan.
Bob turned back to Dillan. “I won’t kill you, as long as you don’t hurt us,” he answered. “Get up.” He gestured for one of the half-vampires, a redhead, to come forward. “Pat her down.” He couldn’t see any obvious weapons, but that meant nothing. He himself carried a gun at his lower back, out of sight under his big jacket.

"I won't hurt you. I wouldnt hurt anyone." Dillan said as her blue eyes darted back and forth between Bob and the others. She wasn't carrying any weapons. She last saw her knife when she was running away from her last hunters. She blinked, her blonde hair falling over her face as she looked at Bob.

“We live in troubled times, I’m sure you can understand it’s better to be safe than sorry,” Bob answered evenly, his golden eyes meeting her gaze before glancing out a small dirty window. He was uneasy about being above ground for too much longer, since he was not a half-vampire. Two vampires in one place might draw the attention of the satellites, and then they couldn’t return to this forest anytime soon. They needed the animals they could get here – it was hard enough finding large spaces where humans hadn’t settled.
“If you don’t get up, we can shoot you instead,” the redhead informed Dillan casually. “Pain or privacy, you pick. I don’t care which it is.” Her blue-grey eyes stared at her unblinkingly. She wouldn’t shoot the girl unless she was proven to be a threat, but the vampyr couldn’t know that, unless she could read minds. She pointed her gun at Dillan’s toes, waiting impatiently.

"Okay! Okay." Dillan said, shaking her head and getting up, dusting her ratty clothes off. She hadnt had anything to eat or drink in about 2 or 3 days. It was killing her. Her eyes darted to Bob and back at the girl who was talking to her.

“Wise choice,” the redhead smiled, holstering her gun. She moved forward and briskly patted the vampyr down, checking for abnormal lumps or odd scents. When she was satisfied that there was nothing on the girl, she straightened up and gave the thumbs up to Bob. Then she removed her weapon again and retreated to the door to stand with her fellow huntress, peering out through the gap they’d left between door and wall.
“You’re in the clear,” Bob told Dillan. “Would you like to come with me? We have a safe place for immortals where the humans can’t reach us.” He didn’t mention specifically where it was. For all he knew, Dillan could still betray them. Better to have a mind-reader check her before they started blabbing their secrets to her.

"Sure. I'd love a place to stay. I also need a fresh change of clothes and I havent eaten or drank in awhile either." Dillan said, babbling. "Oh, by the way, I'm Dillan Claret." she said, nodding at Bob, feeling like she was giving far too much information.

“We can provide all that,” Bob replied, holstering his own gun. “I’m Bob, they’re Stace – “ he pointed to the redhead. “ – and Ana.” Ana was the other huntress, a woman who looked like she had some Native American blood in her. “Grab my arm, we need to leave.” He held out a forearm. The half-vampires stood ready to leap free of the shack as soon as Bob and Dillan were gone.

Dillan nodded, grabbing Bob's arm. She sighed, her blue eyes darting around. She wasnt sure if she could trust these people, but they were better than nothing. She wished she had her knife in case of an attack or something.

Bob turned on the spot, holding Dillan’s hand to his arm with his other hand, much like a gentleman would do with a lady. They vanished, leaving nothing but swirling dust motes behind them. Without a backward glance, Ana and Stace dashed from the hut, heading in the opposite direction from their arrival. It was time to hunt.

Dillan blinked and sighed. "Sooo..." she said, trying to break the awkward tension between her and Bob. Some things were meant to be silenced, but, she could never really keep her mouth shut when she met a new person, but, this time it was different.

Bob glanced down at her with raised eyebrows. “So, what?” he inquired, not even smiling at the play on words. They had arrived underground a block away from headquarters. He released her arm. “This is Old New York,” he informed her. “Come with me, food and clothing are this way.” He started walking without checking to see if she was keeping up. Where could she go? No teleporter would take her aboveground unless she had an assignment or was really good at buttering people up.

Dillan nodded, walking somewhat fast to keep up with Bob. She didnt know what to talk about with him. He was obviously alot older than her and some things you could just not talk about.
