Personal History:
Sidonia Santos was born July 18, 1992 in a state park near Chicago to Iphigenia Ingalls and Octavius Santos. Her mother died of blood loss. There was nothing Octavius could do - her heart stopped beating almost as soon as Sid was born. Grief-stricken, he buried her in a graveyard in Chicago.
For the first seven years of Sid’s life, Sid lived with her father, never staying in one place for too long. They mostly lived in state parks, living off the animals there. But whenever Sid had some money, she would go into town and buy herself some human food.
From the day she was born, Sid questioned why her dad left her mother dying. It grew and grew on her so much that one day she decided to leave.
During her travels alone, she met a vampire named Sally. Sally’s tin foil hat flew towards Sid on a strong gust of wind, and behind the hat ran Sally. As indicated from the tin foil hat, she believed in aliens and was thus naturally paranoid. After many hours of observation to ensure Sid wasn’t an alien, she chose to introduce herself.
Despite Sally’s eccentricities, or perhaps because of them, the two became close friends. It was Sally who took Sid’s mind off her father. Every day, they would do something fun together. They would play with squirt guns, play tag, or jump out of trees in hopes they could fly.
A year after they met, Sid found herself missing her father. But her mother’s death was still nagging at Sid. She confessed her feelings to Sally. Her friend told Sid to find and forgive her father.
So Sid, with the help of Sally, took months to track down Nicholas. He was living, of all places, in Chicago, Illinois. Sally refused to follow Sid into the city, so she found him on her own. He was at a police station, where he was just getting off work. When he smelled Sid, he turned and opened his arms. She walked into his embrace, feeling hesitant but hopeful.
Octavius took her back to his apartment, which had come with a bedroom that he never needed. In September, he enrolled her in high school, wanting her to get an education. Sid enjoyed school and had quite a few human friends. She joined the cheerleading team in her sophomore year and spent her after-school hours practicing. When she graduated, she was voted Most Improved on the squad.
Not only did she do fairly well in school as far as enjoyment level went, but she also met her mother’s sister Lomani and Lomani’s daughter Neola. Sid grew close to the both of them. Neola was the little sister she’d never had, and they spent many hours playing together. And Lomani was the closest thing Sid had ever come to a mother. She often spent the night at their place rather than going back to her dad’s apartment.
After graduation, Octavius wanted to take Sid and move to another city so he could keep his police gig going without having to dye his hair grey. It didn’t help that he was jealous of how much time Sid was spending with her aunt and cousin. But Sid was having none of that. She bid her dad farewell and watched him get on his plane to the new city.
Sid stayed with Lomani and Neola through the summer after her senior year, but by autumn her aunt was getting too inquisitive about what Sid was planning to do with her life, and she was getting sick of it. She loved them both dearly, but she did not want to go to college or get a job. Plus, Neola was entering the first grade, so Sid wouldn’t get to spend as much time with her.
A week after Neola started school, Sid packed up most of her belongings. They said a teary adieu, then she ventured on her way to who knew where. She had a vague thought to maybe look for Sally, but to do that she would need an approximate idea of where her best friend was, and it had been four years since they had seen each other last.
Sid’s travels took her all over the continental United States. She eventually found her way to Forks, Washington. It took her several days before she found the Night House, because she wasn’t looking for it. Her first clue that there were others nearby was when she saw Alyssa Moore and Damien Morgan in a clearing having a picnic.
She stumbled across the House one fateful day. When she knocked on the door, she wasn’t planning to stay there – she just wanted a shower. But she’s still with the Night Coven today, and has no plans to leave.
[glow=red,2,300]§{i’ll keep you my dirty little secret}§[/glow]
Likes: the color blue, doing gymnastics (cartwheels, backflips, etc.), having fun, trying new things, children
Dislikes: seeing a human woman pregnant with a halvie, school, boredom, red eyes, being flirted with by someone other than Yoshi
Fears: Death from a vampire bite. The thought doesn’t eat away at her – she’s just wary around vampires that are obviously thirsty.
Habit: She can usually be found doing something random.
Weakness: Music – she can’t play any instrument competently, and she tends to sing off-key.
Goals: She plans to stop living off her dad’s money and support herself…someday.
Personality: She’s friendly and fun-loving towards most people. She isn’t always in the mood to mess around, though. She’s just as likely to curl up with a good book as to get herself into mischief. She can be a pretty observant person and is not naïve. She is very independent in terms of not clinging to people, but less so when it comes to finances. When upset, she can be too ready to pick a fight and won’t give up on it easily
