"Of course book men are more appealing to women than real men are, they're scripted the way they are and subjected to the whims of the author, who is more than likely a woman. What girl wouldn't like to control the guy of their dreams?" Merik asked, crossing his arms and arching one of his brows at Demi. "You're all alike, hopeless romantics and into all of that fluff and exciting junk. It just makes it harder for us real men to live up to expectations," he sighed, pushing out his bottom lip in a pout. "Too bad, you're all stuck with us uncivilised brutes who know nothing about what women want, but! We do try our best, so please, don't judge us too harshly," he shrugged, then grinned at her. "You don't see me getting any demands or being told what to do," he insisted, though he really didn't sound very convincing.

Demi laughed at Merik. "Oh no...of course not. And maybe my fairytale guy will come someday. He just hasnt arrived yet. Or, he's with all the wrong women. I'm going to go with the second one though." she grinned her normal, cute, smile.

Merik tilted his head at Demi's answer, wondering who she might be speaking of, but shook his head. It wasn't his business. Inwardly, he wondered why he was so interested in so many of his family's personal lives, since this wasn't the first time he had to remind himself that he had nothing to do with how the other's lived. "Or maybe... you need to be convinced that you don't need a man to make you happy. That smile," he pointed to her lips, "Proves it. Go shopping, have a spa day with the girls, go get wild. Do things you wouldn't normally do if you were pinned down in a relationship. Enjoy yourself, and someday, maybe tomorrow, maybe not for another hundred years, a guy will come along who will treat you how you deserve to be treated. Don't live your life waiting for something to happen for you, make it happen yourself." He didn't know what possessed him to say such things to her, but it felt right. "Skittle?" he asked, offering his seemingly endless supply to her.

Demi nodded. "Sure I'll have a skittle." she smiled. "If I had any more girlfriends, I'd go to the spa, or shopping or somkething, but, Jesme really isnt my friend anymore and since Kodi and Darius got married, I havent seen Kodi around for a while." she sighed, running her fingers thru her hair, which she had re-dyed black.

Merik took Demi's hand and held it palm up so that he could pour some of the sweets into it. When it was full enough so that none would spill out, he began picking out the red ones he had given her and ate them as he did so. "I like the red ones," he answered sheepishly, leaving her at least one of them. "I just met a nice young woman earlier. Her name is Erin... and as far as I know, Natalie's still around. Natalie's pretty fun, but I haven't had a chance to get to know Erin... although I did end up falling on her. Hey! Have you seen the Christmas lights outside? I put them up myself!" he told her proudly, grinning cheekily as he continued eating the sweets out of Demi's hand, as if it were his own makeshift bowl.

Demi laughed at Merik. "Hmm, Maybe I'll go talk to Natalie then, and no, I havent seen the Christmas lights yet. And I'm sure this Erin girl felt weird when you fell on her. How did you end up falling on her?" she asked. She smiled, grabbing some Skittles.

"Well, it sounds like you have a plan, then. You should really check the lights out. What's Christmas without taking a gander at a few?" Merik asked, grinning. Obviously, he was only talking it up because he was pleased with his work. "I don't know about weird, but she kept apologising, which made no sense because I was the one who fell on her. Well... if you think about it, it kinda was her fault. She ran under me. I think she was trying to catch me, but what do I know?" he laughed, shrugging to show his cluelessness. "Oh, I was putting up Christmas lights! I fell," he explained, biting his bottom lip in slight embarrassment. "I was distracted by leftover Halloween decorations. I kicked it, got tangled, and fell."

Demi laughed. "Well, that sounds like an epic failure." she shook her head. "This Erin girl sounds like an interesting person. Maybe she was trying to catch you. Perhaps she has bad hand-eye coordination." she shrugged, running her fingers thru her hair.

"Oh no, you can't talk to me about epic failure. This was a one-time deal. If I remember correctly, you're about as graceful as a bull in a china cabinet," Merik teased, pouring more Skittles into Demi's hand when they had finished what he had poured out the first time. "Or maybe this Erin realised she was strange in thinking that she could catch me in the first place. Look at me, I'm giant! Even Tasia says I need to lose weight," he joked again. He knew he wasn't big, just tall, and Tasia's comment was in regards to him getting stuck in a child-sized opening in a tree. "And bad hand-eye coordination could probably be her excuse. We'll never know unless we ask, and I'm not sure I want to bring up the subject of falling on her any time soon," he laughed.

Demi laughed, eating some of the skittles. "Well, ya never know, maybe she'll wanna talk about it, or something of the sort." she smiled. "And you are big" she teased Merik, grinning smugly. She then blinked, realizing that had a sexual double meaning. (XD)

Eva walked into the living room just in time to hear Demi's last comment. She stopped in her place and made an O.o expression, wondering exactly what they were talking about to make her say that. "Erm.... should I come back later?" she asked, not really wanting to intrude on their conversation, especially by the sounds of what it was about, and she couldn't help feeling awkward. She doubt they would ever talk about it, because she couldn't see Merik doing that, and plus they were in a public room where anyone could walk in at any given moment, just like she did. The only reason she thought that's what they were talking about was because of Demi's expression. "I'm just gonna go over there and, uh, look for a movie!" she said, feeling too awkward just standing there looking at them so she went over to the movie cabinet to distract herself.

Merik blinked at Demi's comment about Erin maybe wanting to talk about it. "That makes no sense. It was awkward and maybe a little painful, and like I said, she kept apologising. If she did say anything, it would probably be something along the lines of getting crushed to death by some crazy guy," he laughed, glancing up at Demi again when he felt a mixture of smugness and slight embarrassment. He furrowed his brow slightly until it dawned on him what she had said, then snorted and facepalmed at her. "And here I thought you were one of the innocent ones," he laughed, glancing around when he smelt Eva enter the room. "No, my love, you can stay," he assured her when she asked if she should come back later. "We were talking about one of the new girls, Erin, and how I became... acquainted with her. I fell off of the roof when putting up the Christmas lights and landed on her. We were joking about my height and weight... and that's when you walked in to hear Demi's comment," he explained, trying to assure her that their conversation was innocent.

Demi laughed and nodded at Eva. "If I were innocent Merik, my dear friend, a lot would be different." she told him, crossing her legs underneath her. She twitched her nose and smiled innocently, or well, as innocently as she could.

"Ooooooh, that makes more sense," Eva said, muffling her laughter behind a hand because she found the story Merik told her amusing, just because he fell off the roof. She held back her teasing comments, deciding to leave them till later, and she pulled out a movie. "I shall watch..." She paused for dramatic effect before spinning and displaying the movie by holding it out towards Merik and Demi. "THE GRINCH!" Instead of putting the movie in though, she raced over to the armchair Demi was seated on, with Merik on the arm, and she plopped herself down on Demi's lap. "Wanna put this in for me?" she asked Merik. Before he answered, she had already shoved the movie in his hands. "Thanks, you're a doll!"

Merik couldn't help the awkward grin he wore at the strange turn in the conversation. "And since you've made perfectly clear that you're not, let's leave the details a mystery and let you hide behind that innocent little mask of yours," he smirked, tapping Eva in the forehead lightly because he knew she wanted to laugh at him. Slipping off of the chair's arm, he took the movie that was forced into his hands and crawled over to the video player, crossing his ankles while he waited for the thing to load so he could start it up. "You're a mean one, Miss Evagrinch!" he sang, rolling over so he was on his back and propping himself up with one of his elbows while waving the other in the air for dramatic effect. "You really are a heel! You're as cuddly as a cactus, you're as charming as an eeeel, Miss Evagrinch!" he finished, then army crawled as fast as he could under the coffee table, where he assumed he wouldn't be harmed."HEY! Where are my Skittles?!"
