Jesme read for a bit before feeling a bit paranoid and decided to look back under the table again, even though she was sure there wouldn't be anything under there. She glanced up at the spot where she had seen movement and back to her book, but then double-taked again with wide eyes when she was greatly surprised to find she had been wrong. "Whoa!" She jolted backwards slightly when she found a man sitting cross-legged under the table. I could have sworn there wasn't anyone under there before... She stared at the man for a moment before finding her voice and being able to speak. "Uhh...hi," was all she was able to stupidly say, still a bit surprised.

Ira chuckled in amusement as he watched Jesme's reaction to seeing him under the table when she had just looked there a few seconds earlier. "And I could've sworn my socks matched when I dressed this evening," he muttered, poking his bottom lip out slightly as he picked at his striped dress sock in comparison to his other one that was speckled with tiny black dots. He hadn't meant to listen to what Jesme had thought, normally he wasn't able to sense that, but it was so strong in her mind that it was difficult for him to differentiate thought from actual words. He looked up at her, his expression slightly sheepish because, although he had thought it was amusing, he hadn't meant to frighten her. "Hullo. I'm Ira," he introduced, readjusting the collar of the ruffled dress shirt he wore that flared at his wrists and waist. He made no move to get any closer to her, and although most people could see that as rude, he didn't think he was doing anything wrong.

Jesme was surprised when the man seemed to reply to her unspoken thought, but then again she wasn't too surprised since Jim did sometimes rely to her unspoken thought just to mess with her every once in a while. It appeared a lot of people liked to mess with her. "Well, you don't always need to match. Sometimes mixing things up is fun and makes you unique," she said with a slight shrug. When he introduced himself she smiled a shy, but friendly smile at him. "Nice to meet you, Ira. I'm Jesme," she replied with a slight wave of her hand at him, since they obviously couldn't shake hands at that great a distance. "So what are you doing under the table anyways?" she asked, curiosity spiking through her voice, having been trying to figure that since she first spotted him under there.

Ira shrugged. "If you say so. I guess a bit of quiet flare couldn't hurt," he allowed, but he didn't seem quite interested in secret wardrobe details as he normally would've been. He just wanted simple conversation for the moment, and Jesme didn't seem to mind, at least, he didn't think so. "Jesme's an unusual name. I don't think I've ever come across a Jesme before; it's a nice change," he told her, drawing his knees up and wrapping his arms around them. He was quiet for a little while after hearing her question, and since he didn't want to go into too much detail, he decided to give her the simplest answer that came to mind. "I don't like the light; it hurts my eyes."

"Oh, uhm, thanks," Jesme said in a shyish tone. She knew her name was sorta unique, as she'd been told by a lot of people, but she always felt a bit shy when people complimented it. "It's a mixture between my mother and my grandmother's names," she explainer, since he seemed interested in her name. When he answered her question she just nodded slightly before speaking. "Ooh, well that does sense then, since it's all dark and whatnot underneath there. I mean if my eyes hurt in the light I wouldn't want to be out where there was light too, but that'd be hard for me because I love reading books and it'd be really hard to read if I was in the dark all the time," she stopped herself there, noticing she had rambled on a bit and her cheeks tinted a slight red in embarrassment when she realized this.

Ira's eyes widened as he listened to Jesme waffle on about something pertaining to reading, lack of light, and it being dark all the time. Obviously, he zoned out a bit, but he shook his head when he came to the real world again. He glanced down at his knee and flicked off a bit of fuzz that stuck to his trousers before looking up again. "Jesme, do I make you uncomfortable?" he asked, his tone slightly saddened, but more curious than anything else. "I mean, I understand completely if I do. I was just... curious, I guess," he explained, especially since he had taken her rambling as nervousness. Her blushing only cemented the thought into his mind.

Jesme titled her head to the side a bit in confusion. trying to figure out why he would have asked if she was uncomfortable, because she actually wasn't. Then it sorta hit her that maybe her rambling had made it seem that way. "Oh no,no,no, no. You don't make me uncomfortable. You see, normally I wouldn't talk all that much at all if I was uncomfortable, so my somewhat rambling means the opposite of that. Oh and the blushing thing, that's just sort of a regular occurrence for me," she explained, hoping she had done a well enough job. "Do I make you uncomfortable?" She was curious now, wondering if she had scared him off with her waffling. (XD)

Head tilted to the side, Ira wondered exactly how much air the girl was able to hold in her lungs to be able to talk so much in one go, grinning widely at the mental image of Jesme training her lungs with breathing techniques. Shaking his head of the thought, he leaned forward and placed his chin on his arms, which were still laying on his knees. "You're a very peculiar being," he commented, peeking out from under the table slightly, but retreating again once when the lighting was too bright for his sensitive eyes. "No. You don't bother me at all... could you, perhaps, do me a favour?" he asked, glancing towards the kitchen.

"Oh, well uh....thanks," Jesme said in response. She watched as he stuck his head out slightly and then as he quickly put his head back under the table. "Sure," she said with a slight shrug and a smile before speaking again, "Whatch'a need?" She was curious as to what he wanted her to do for him, although she did see him glance at the kitchen, so she was guessing it had to do with the kitchen.

Ira smiled slightly in relief when Jesme agreed to help him, hoping she wasn't one of the judgemental types who would give him hell for what he was about to ask. "I need... a drink," he told her slowly, wondering how else to phrase his request. "A fine wine, maybe? Red. It's the only thing I'm able to stomach that isn't... the normal diet, y'know, and I doubt Eli- Mer... has he gone by Avery here, as well?" he asked, brows furrowing together slightly. He shrugged and continued on with his thought. "I don't think he would appreciate if I fed from anyone here, and I haven't had anything for a couple of days," he explained, his stomach protesting loudly as if on cue. He ducked his head again, gnawing on his bottom lip.

"Uhm...sure. I think I should be find some of that," Jesme answered, thinking it was a bit weird, until he explained why. She understood then. She did have a bit of a weird look on her face when he used several names for Merik. "Normally everyone just calls him Merik, although Tasia calls him Elias, but anyways, I'll go see if we've got any," she said, stopping the talk about Merik's name when she heard Ira's stomach and got up from the couch and walked over to the kitchen.
Once she was in the kitchen she began rummaging through the cupboards, looking for something for Ira. After the first few cupboards she finally found some red wine. She opened the bottle and poured Ira a glass and then closed the bottle. She thought it would probably be helpful though to bring the bottle as well.
She walked back into the family room and placed the wine bottle on the table above Ira before leaning down to give him the glass of wine. "We did have some, so here ya go," she said cheerfully with a smile before walking back over to the couch and plopping down on it again, crossing her legs and resting them on the coffee table in from of her.

Carter sat in the family room, her hands in her lap as she watchd 'Bones' on TV. She was extremely intrigued into this show. It fascinated her. She hadn't seen Dante since tat incdent with Teresa. Frankly, she could care less.

Ira smiled when Jesme told him that they should have some, and he watched her leave the room in the direction of the kitchen. Once she was out of sight, he slumped backwards against the wall for support, closing his eyes. It was tiring trying to keep himself comfortable and satiated, and he was certain he looked more than a little bit weary, with dark circles under his eyes. He only ever looked healthy after feeding, and he didn't want to risk doing that while at the castle because people would complain if he forgot to erase their memories. That seemed to be happening a lot more often, actually, and he didn't want to be kicked out of one of the few places he could consider himself moderately safe. He peeked open one of his eyes when he heard movement just outside of the room, holding himself motionless as he watched Carter walk though and onto a sofa to watch television. He didn't say anything, not wanting to disrupt her, but he continued to stare creepily until Jesme finally returned. Murmering a thanks to her, he smiled and took a few long sips before he was finally able to sit up properlly again.

"You're welcome," Jesme said in response to Ira's murmured thanks. She smiled a small smile in Carter's direction before turning her attention back to Ira, noticing her looked a little better after drinking from his glass. "Sooo...how long have you been here and how'd you find the castle anyways?" she asked curiously. She hadn't really seen him around much, so she was assuming he was new to the castle.

"Oh the family room, what a wonderful place to watch and observe the natural habitat of what ever beings live here, or well don't live here just occupy space because technically they died quite awhile ago, but that's beside the point," Sydney said as she walked down the stairs slowly as if she was a tour guide, she also had a hair brush in one hand that she was using as a microphone, "Hmm. Today seems to be kinda quite, only one lonely person resides in the normal meeting area of this jungle, I might have miss counted my days and today may in fact be mating day. If you know what I mean," She said winking at what would be a camera man if she was a talk show host or something.
"Okay Sydney first of all you are dressed way to weird to be a tour guide, and way to flashy to be a talk show host because they would never listen to what you said," Mel started, she was the one lonely girl curled up in one of the arm chairs, "Second of all, ouch, are you saying that I am not good enough to be mated with? Well your "mate" or what ever is probably having more fun with his camera, and third well I don't have a third, it was just a one and two kind of thing," She said thinking that she had had a three but was so proud of her two comment to remember three.
"Well first of all, MEL, I am never to flashy, My voice is so beautiful that everybody could listen to and think about how well I pull off this outfit at the same time, I mean people are such multi-taskers now a days. I mean in my day I sat and starred at Timmy while I babysat because I couldn't keep an eye on him and do something else. Plus this outfit is gorgeous. On me. I mean who else could pull off a purple leather pants and a green sequin top that I found hidden in the bottom of my closet, probably from those days where clothing was horrid, but its back now," Sydney said twirling around to show off her outfit a little more, "Its much better than your baggy hoodie and loose jeans, I mean invest in some skinny jeans girl friend," She said snapping her fingers and doing the little head thing, "And second ouch," She said not adding any more to that topic because she couldn't honestly disagree since he was probably taking pictures as they spoke, "You know young one, I think I have taught you the acts of being a biatch very well," She said very, very proud of herself.
