Angel sat hunched over in the dining hall, squinting at the yellowed pages of a hardcover book. Some of the words had faded, and there were several unidentifiable stains that could have been anything from drool to ketchup. Some corners had been dog-eared so much that they were nearly falling off. Angel knew she could find the same book on an e-reader, but she was old-fashioned and preferred the feel of a regular book. Or at least that was what she had said when she'd been offered an e-reader. Now, though, she was having second thoughts as she struggled to read a paragraph covered in a large brown splotch. Her fork still hung from her hand, the prongs embedded in the last slice of her deep-dish pizza.

Addie had been in the kitchen, making herself something to eat for lunch. She'd been above ground for most of the morning and had just recently come back down. She'd felt hungry, which was what had lead her to go make something to eat. Once she had made herself a couple sandwiches and a tall glass of milk she then preceded to the dinning hall, which was where she came upon Angel. She'd met Angel before, mostly from having to have injuries healed by her from being above ground a lot of the time, but she didn't really know the girl all too much. She smiled at her and sat down across from her at the table. "Hey, Angel. Whatch'a got there?" she asked her before taking a bite of her peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Angel glanced up, giving up on the paragraph for the moment. She had half a mind to scratch at the spot, but the other half told her she would probably poke a hole through the fragile paper. "Contemplating an antique," she answered with a smile. "You may have heard of it. Does Harry Potter ring a bell?" Seeing Addison eating suddenly reminded her of her pizza and she dug a forkful out of it and stuck it in her mouth. It was cooling, but not cold, the perfect temperature for pizza she'd always thought.

Addie leaned over the table a little to get a closer look at the book and smiled. "Ahh yes, that book. It definitely does ring a bell. I've always been one for reading antiques. They can be quite enjoyable and Harry Potter certainly was. Is this your first time reading it?" After speaking she then took another bite of her sandwich, also taking a drink of her milk afterwards as well.

"Not even close," Angel grinned. "I lost count of how many times I've read the series after ten." She slid a piece of paper into the book to serve as a bookmark, then carefully shut it. The faded binding proclaimed the title as: Harry otter and he Dealy allows. The missing letters had simply worn away. "Which was your favorite book in the series?" she asked as she stabbed another forkful of pizza. Now it really was getting cold. She hurriedly swallowed and took a larger mouthful.

"My favorite one would have to be the third book, where Harry learns the truth about Serious Black." Addie replied. "Which one is your favorite?" She took another couple bits out of her sandwich, finishing the first, before taking another drink from her glass.

Angel snickered. "Sirius was anything but serious," she said, deliberately playing with the name. "He always acted like a petulant child in my opinion. Always whining about how he couldn't do more to help." She patted the book. "Mine is a toss-up between Deathly Hallows and Half-Blood Prince. In Prince, everyone acts almost normal for most of the book. I liked that. It was a nice break. And in Hallows, the good guys win, of course." She grinned. "Another nice thing about those two books is that Sirius wasn't in them, not really. Which character would you have liked to see less of?" She finally stopped talking to finish her pizza and sip from her lemonade.

While listening to Angel ramble on a bit about the books, Addie started eating her second sandwich. She found most of what Angel said to be quite interesting and had never really thought too much about it before. She swallowed before she spoke, after having thought for a moment about her response. "Yeah, I'd have to agree with you about Sirius. He should have just been happy that he was live, out of Azkaban, and able to be with Harry at least. And as for the last two books, I really liked them as well. I mostly like the Prisoner of Azkaban better because well, nobody dies in that book," she said with a small chuckle. She had to think for a moment before answering Angel's question. "Hmm...well, honestly I'd have to say I'd have liked to see less of Draco," she said before taking another bite of her sandwich.

“Yeah, I know what you mean,” Angel said of Addison’s explanation about why Prisoner of Azkaban was her favorite. She suppressed a belch and stared at Addison when she seemed to blank out. She checked over her shoulder to see if Addison was looking at someone else, but no one was there. She raised her hand as though to wave it in front of Addison’s face, but just then the vampire resurfaced to answer Angel’s question as though no time had passed. She giggled at her a little obnoxiously. “Really? Honestly, I can’t imagine Harry Potter without Malfoy. He’s his foil – a cowardly, smarmy git, but a foil nevertheless. Without Malfoy the foil, the story would have been downright boring. I mean, what would Harry have done if he hadn’t stalked Malfoy in the sixth book? Done homework? Bleah. Although, some of those homework scenes were pretty funny. I remember when Ron’s quill started changing the words on him. Roonil Waslib is quite the name.” She snorted.
