Talon had yet to get used to anything underground, especially since he had only been let out of the infirmary a few days. He had wanted to spend more time with Merik and Eva, but learning that they were important people within the coven made him understand that he couldn't be greedy and take up all of their time. He hadn't been given any kind of duties yet, hadn't been given a tour - other than being shown a room, the main living space, the kitchens, washroom, and laundry room, so he found himself very restless. The only thing that really had his hopes up was actually having someone to meet with, however informal the invitation was, and by the same guy who had called him a pansy. "Pansy, my ass," he muttered as he tried to follow the directions he had been given to the Maxim apartment building. Smoothing down the clothes he had been given, much to his relief, he ran his fingers through his hair and knocked on the door.

Omari got up from his desk and opened they door, "Talon? Welcome, come in," he said as he stepped aside to let him in. Taking a sear in his living room area, he gestured to a seat for Talon and sat away from him. "Glad youd stopped by," he said running his fingers across his eyes. "Writing schedules were making my eyes sore, nice to take a break. I hope your settling in well?" he said making it a question. "Well... Business first...I was wondering of you'd be interested in taking up a job or duty? We all try to help out around here. Don't worry. It isn't anything like trash cleanup or things of that nature, those are for most of the younger ones to do. Do you have any type of training? Medical, physically, martial arts, therapy, cooking, scientific... Things of that nature?"

"Hullo, thank you for inviting me," Talon nodded when Omari opened the door and allowed him entry into his home. "No problem. Believe me, I have nothing better to do with my time," he assured him when he thanked him for showing up. "Oh, so you're in charge, too, like my brother?" he asked, assuming because if he was making schedules, then he must be in some kind of leadership role. "Oh, er. I'm settling in. Everyone is so friendly and accomodating. I'm grateful that they all seem so selfless, even to someone like me who they don't even know..." he told him, his words trailing off politely because he didn't want to come out and blatantly say that he was bored as hell. "Yes, certainly! If I had known this is where the conversation was going, I would've shown up sooner. I've never had any formal training with anything, but I'm willing. I've gotten myself along this far, haven't I? There've been a few black periods in my life, but who hasn't these days?" he asked, not wanting to be given any kind of boring duty for a lack of skills. "I'm quick on my feet, can brace a sprain or a broken limb, can land a punch, but I can't cook for my life and if you gave me any chemical that isn't water, I couldn't name it. I can do this, though," he told him, lifting a hand and quickly heating it up, which produced flames a moment later.

Omari nodded as Talon talked about his settling and meeting the other vamps. "I wouldn't say I'm in charge, I just kind of tell people what to do..." he said with a laugh that was a deep rumble. "I kind of fell into the job since I can't go uptop...." he said with a wistful look. "My son goes up at least once a week... Keeps him from getting to restless. You've met him, Kailen, his hair changes color a lot. He got that from his mom," he said with a smile. "we could definitely use a hand in the infirmary, probably on the rush cases we get with the big injuries. And if your interested, you could either scout up top with some of the vampire and halvies, or you could do search and rescue. Your brother usually leads those missions or his second does..." he trailed off, not knowing if he should drop her name, especially if his suspicions held true.

"Oh, well that works, too," Talon chuckled at Omari's response, finding him a very pleasant guy to get along with. "Are you well?" he asked, wondering whether he was treading on dangerous territory for asking such a personal question about why he couldn't leave the underground. "I can understand the pains of restlessness," he agreed, nodding his head out of instinct. "I have? Oh," he blinked, realising that the kid he must be referring to was the young man he had met the other day he woke up. He had also referred to his father, which made him look at Omari closer. "Oh! Ohhh," he uttered, dawning recognition coming over him as Kailen's 'don't tell my dad' comment started to make sense. "Sorry, I was confused about his... um, hair," he lied with a grin. "Green looked very odd to be natural," he joked. "As for helping in the infirmary... well, I'll do what I can, but I certainly can't do anything like Addison had," he shrugged off. "Scouting doesn't sound too bad. I like to keep myself alert, so offering another set of eyes is something I can do." He bit his lip at the thought of Merik leading rescue missions, trying not to feel sick. He knew he shouldn't, but he couldn't help feeling worried about him being at risk. "Are these missions quite dangerous?" he asked. He was sure the way he asked it made it sound like he was afraid for himself, but he wanted to know as much about his family as he could. "Couldn't someone else lead? I mean..." he trailed off, deciding it was better for himself to just stay silent until his other questions were answered. He didn't want to embarrass his brother by saying anything foolish.

Omari shook his head, "No no I'm fine. I threw myself in this work because it keeps me calm. Kailen and I got into a bit of a scuffle on our way here with some super humans. I had a bad head injury that has put my ability at risk to everyone down here. So I make sure I'm calm and collected, basically full of paperwork so I don't go off. My sister in law has helped build bridges in my head to make it harder for... Well I kind of produce shock waves.... And shockwaves below ground equal cave-in.... So she basically turned my ability off," he said with a shrug.
"Addison is amazing in the medic, we just need people to help her out from time to time," he said folding his hands.
He gave Talon an understanding look, thinking he was afraid for both himself and Merik. "Merik is dangerous when it comes to hand to hand combat, as well as with the weapons. He's a natural choice for lead, and does it well. The missions can be dangerous, but for the most, they come back relatively unharmed," he said, wanting to give Talon some piece of mind.
Omari sat back and scrubbed his hand through his hair, "Well I guess I better get on with it then..." he mumbled to himself. Sitting forward in the chair, he clasped his hands tightly in front of him and looked into Talon's eyes, "Do you remember a woman named Icis?" he asked quietly.

Talon listened silently while Omari explained why he couldn't risk going aboveground with an unstable ability. It made sense for him live like he did, and much moreso because he had chosen to, rather than be told or forced to. He envied him. "Isn't there any way you could work with it? I mean, not down here, because you're right, cave-ins don't sound fun. I dunno, just ignore me. I don't really know what I'm talking about myself," he chuckled. "Oh, no. I wasn't saying that I wouldn't help; anywhere I'm needed, I'll be happy to do anything I can. If Addison needs me, I'm there," he assured, not wanting to sound like he was being picky about what his options were. At hearing that his brother, his little brother that he had taken care of and looked after for so long, was a deadly killing machine, he shook his head. He just couldn't grasp that train of thought. "I guess it's just something I'm going to have to witness before I'm able to believe it. He's still my baby brother, no matter how long it's been or how much he's grown - and believe me, he has. And Eva..." he trailed off again, not wanting to start discussing personal matters to this guy just because he was the first person really willing to talk to him. He appreciated his company, he didn't want to run him off. "Hmm?" he questioned, a little curious about what Omari was about to turn the conversation to, since it sounded like he was intent on something. After the question was given, he was quiet once more for a long time, longer than he should've been for an answer so easy. What had happened was that he had fallen into a memory for a short time, and it brought a smile to his lips. "Yes, sir. I do remember a woman named Icis Axil."

Omari nodded, "It's hard to watch the young ones grow up.... I've just experienced that with my son.... Scared the crap out of me but he was fine," he said with a wistful smile. "Just wait till you see him in action, it's actually quite interesting to watch... Remember Bruce Lee.... Moves so precise and accurate."
"Aahhhh that's good you do. You see her twin... Artemis is my wife, was my wife," he corrected wincing a little. "Kailen looks more like them than me. And well Icis is here, she's the second I was talking about, she does rescue missions, actually she does a lot of missions, some that are too dangerous for her to undertake alone, and where Merik has Eva to keep him in check, so to speak, she doesn't. She's admitted to being a little reckless ever since her memory came back... After... Well..." he gestured at him.

Talon grinned at Omari's understanding response, but he shook his head. "Its understandable for you, but Mer's only a year younger than I am," he shrugged, but made an O.o expression at actually seeing his brother in action. "You mean you guys are just going to allow me to go aboveground?" he asked, but he really didn't care much for an answer, it was just the thought of seeing Merik, slight compared to the monsters he'd seen and fought with aboveground, take on a superhuman. The thought frightened him, but he kept his expression schooled. Remembering that they were now on another subject, Talon kept his attention centred on what Omari was telling him. His face was a myriad of expressions as he was told about the man's life, his wife, his son - his sister-in-law. His mind spiralled once more at the revelation that she was alive, this woman he had considered moving on in his life with at one time, but was drawn back out of his thoughts when Omari told him that she was risking herself. Immediately, he was overwhelmed with a crushing guilt; a guilt he felt was in response to the memory of not having been able to protect her when that had been his intention. "After what? After me?" he asked, confused about what was being implied. Was she being reckless because he had been stupid and gotten himself killed? No, that didn't make sense, but he still felt remarkably guilty. He then paused and realised that he may not even factor in with whatever Omari was saying, then felt arrogant for assuming he was. "I'm sorry, continue."

Omari chuckled, "Of course you can just go above ground, your not a prisoner. It's safer if some of us are with you though," he said wanting to reassure Talon than being down here is of his own free will. "Well she lost her memory of theeventd that took place at the Night House. She returned to the Volturi... Yes... Bad choice... but she had no idea that they were the ones who had just ruined her life," Omari said shaking his head sadly. "She also returned to her volatile relationship with Ian... The man that... You know..." he said making a gesture towards Talon's body. "When her memory returned to her, she left the Volturi, beat the crap out of Ian. She found her way back into a group of mercenaries, and she lived with them for quite a while before she sought out Artemis," Omari struggled for a moment, shutting his eyes and taking a deep breath. "Se decided to leave that group, and in retaliation, they tried to kill her, well, they thought Artemis was her. And they murdered her on our wedding day.... Icis took her revenge on them.... Every single one of them.... But she's been unhinged since then....but there's more..." he trailed off.
