This topic is where the Moderators/Staff are going to post anything we think is important or useful information you guys should know about. We will still post our notes in the chatroom, but this will make it much easier to keep up with what is going on and let you all know why and when we add new rules to the Rules and Summary topic.

February 8th marks the forum's birthday[Depsite the shiny new-ness of the Proboards site xD]! On this special day we're allowing old characters to return - as long as they are able to - and deceased characters [as ghosts, not to be interacted with unless your character can see/hear ghots] to be roleplayed all day. These ghost characters include: Nikko, Talon, Sarah, Angus, Robin and Dylan (and any other dearly departed, PM me). We're going to let a few rules slide ONLY on this day to celebrate the roleplay, plotting and making awesome friends along the way. ^.^

Greetings, dwellers of the roleplay,
A few of our fellow roleplayers, the Mods, and I have all agreed that it is time for another forum-wide plot. This includes all roleplayers and any character within reason:
We have decided that the local deer populations of the forest have an internal defense system that kicked in when the vampires showed up in England. The defense is in their blood, and is scentless and slow-working, so it would take a while for a vampire to get infected. This quirk causes the vampires and halvies drinking from the deer to get sick by gradually getting through their natural immunity. Once ill, they will just have to ride it out, because the sickness is like a virus and cannot be instantly cured. This plot has already begun, as most of you have already noticed, so I figured it was time to alert anyone else who would want to be included in this. There are no definite symptoms, we agreed that they would be different from vampire to vampire depending on what their roleplayer chooses. The characters have yet to realise the problem is from the deer specifically, so none of them should just randomly assume 'Oh no, I'm sick. I ate that deer two days ago, that's definitely the reason.'. I do not think this sickness is bad enough that any of the characters will die, but I'm not completely against this and will require a PM or email explaining to me why you think your character should die, were you to decide this. If your character is new and only just started drinking from the animals, I doubt I will be easily convinced to allow them to be amongst the drastically ill.
~ Your participation is welcome,
LM
***This plot had already started in the previous rp and has mostly run it's course, but that doesn't mean your character can't still get sick***
~[We will occasionally start up forum-wide plots that will include everyone. This will help the roleplayers get to know each other better and learn how to best interact with multiple replies]~

I edited and cleaned up a few of the rules that we were still a little iffy on when we made the transition from Fanfiction.net to proboards so that it makes more sense and flows smoother. I've made no major changes, so you don't really need to read over all of them again, unless you want to [always a good idea ^.~]. One thing I would like to point out is underneath the rules, located in the tips: Instead of limiting each response to one sentence, I decided it would be better if there were at least three sentences in each reply. This helps give more detail about what your character is/are doing, saying, feeling, and thinking, and will give the person you're roleplaying with more to work with when they reply to you. I hope this isn't an inconvenience to anyone, but I'm positive that you're all capable to working with this, even though it isn't necessarily mandatory.

THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT FOR YOUR OWN GOOD
"FEAR, FIRE, FOES!"
People come pouring out of various buildings along the street to stare at a strange girl screeching her head off. As far as they can tell, there are no fires or foes to be seen in any direction. The girl does seem like someone to be afraid of though, considering how crazy she's acting. They gather around her, some looking tempted to call the police. When the girl has summoned quite a crowd, she lowers her arms and smiles around at them all. And then she makes the following speech,
"Fine, it's nothing that drastic. I just wanted to bring your attention to the quiet. You can hear the crickets chirping. Listen!" She cups her hand to one ear and leans to the side. Some people start to look annoyed rather than curious or afraid. Had they left their activitiess simply to listen to the mad ravings of some girl? She wasn't finished yet, however. "I realize that people have lives and need to do things that can't be put off. I understand and respect that. I myself have schoolwork to do seeing as I'm in college, and sometimes I just don't feel like interacting with people. I get it.
"But, my dears, I can tell at least some of you want to rp. Why else would you stick your nose on the forum? We are an rping forum, after all, and also a games forum. But what I've noticed is that even though you stick your nose in, you don't actually do anything, except perhaps stalk threads. If that's all you want to do, that's fine. But for those of you who actually want to rp, what are you waiting for? It's not that hard to make a new thread or post. If you're waiting for someone else to be on so you won't be so lonely, you have a long wait. We all have lives and tend to get on the computer at different times. Just make a new post/thread and when you next get on, you can check to see if someone responds. The nice thing about this forum is that things can take time. Remember the days when you had to stay up really late to get a bit of rping done because the coven's days passed at the same rate as ours? Man, that was crazy, especially as plenty of us have school or work and need our beauty sleep. That's why the slowness of this forum is actually a good thing - we can do rping without having to sit on our computers for most of the day.
"I also get that it's spring, and the forum's participation always drops around springtime because everyone's got reality to deal with. That's fine too. Now if only I could believe that that's the case for everyone. You see, I saw yesterday that a lot of people had been on, and not one of them so much as said 'hi' in the c box. If you were all PMing or stalking threads, okay. But I bet at least some of you just wanted to rp. So why didn't you? The floor's open, this forum was MADE for rping. That's why we don't have any discussion boards. We don't come on to complain about how horrid or awesome Twilight was. We all originally joined because we wanted to rp. So...LET'S GET RPING!" With that shout, she suddenly disappears in a puff of brilliantly colored sparkles.
