"You look familiar." Was all Grace said, staring at the girl with narrowed eyes. She was searching her memory, which was faulty. Ever since she could remember, she would forget gaps in the life along with her true past.

“So do you,” Eowyn replied, tilting her head to the side slightly. Like Grace, her mind was rummaging through its files. Unlike Grace, her files were in considerably better shape and order. “Weren’t you with the French at the battle of Belleau Wood?” she asked after a moment.
“Bell?” Sid asked. “Did the trees have bells hanging from the branches? Were they pretty or ugly bells?”
Eowyn rolled her eyes. “No. It was just a forest. Like the one in our backyard.”
“Oh. Boring.” Sid pouted lightly and turned to Grace. She grabbed a small bit of the brunette’s hair and started making a skinny braid.

"Yes I was. Of course I tied my hair up so I could look like a boy. You were there too?" Grace asked, a hand on her chin. It was nice to at least somewhat know someone here, even if it wasn't really knowing them.

"Ye-ep," Eowyn made the word into two syllables, eyeing Grace a little incredulously. If she hadn't seen Grace briefly as they were fighting, she wouldn't have believed that she could pull off a boy disguise. The woman had a clear feminine figure. That contrasted sharply with Eowyn, who was thin as a stick and didn't have much of a chest.
Hearing this, Sid climbed off the chair and pulled all of Grace's hair back with her hand so she could see. "Did you bind your chest or something? You still totally look like a girl," she said, squinting.

"Nothing that binding, a corset, and baggy clothes won't help." Grace said with a smile. Plus a beard Glued to your face helps hide most of your face.

“Yeah,” Eowyn smiled. “It helps that people choose to see what they want to see. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I was in the middle of packing up. It’s time and past for me to be moving back to my cabin. I don’t want it overrun with bugs.” With a wave, she trotted back up the stairs and out of sight.
“So, Gracie,” Sid said once Eowyn was gone. “Where’s your room? Do you have any boy clothes? If you don’t, I bet I can steal some of Yoshi’s stuff. I’ve been meaning to decorate a pair of his boots with little pink sequins and bows anyways.” She snickered.

"Well, Merik was supposed to show me but he had things to do so I don't know. " Grace said, liking the new hairdo. "I like this place." she blurted out, not sure why. It reminded her of somewhere, but exactly where she had no idea.

"Huh," said Sid, surprised. "Mer's usually not too busy to help someone out. Unless something happened to Evie or something equally drastic. " Only then did she seem to realize she was still holding Grace's hair back. She let it fall from her fingers. "I know, right?" She grinned at Grace. "Castles totally beat anyplace else. Only thing that'd be cooler is living on the moon. How bout we go find you a room? We have tons of empty ones. Do you have a preference for which floor your room is on?"

"Sure" she said getting up. "Are you good friends with Eowyn?" Grace asked, curious.

When Grace didn't answer Sid on where she wanted to look for a room, Sid figured she didn't care where it was, so she headed towards the main entrance to the library. She shrugged at the vampire's question. "Depends what day you catch her. Eowyn can be annoying sometimes." She grinned. "She says the same about me and nearly everyone in the castle. The only creature she always seems to get along with is this horse she takes care of. His name is Boots." They reached the door and Sid held it out for her, bowing and saying, "After you, Duchess."

"She didn't know why, but having Sid calling her Dutchess stroke a nerve. It wasn't her fault, but it did anyways affect her. She hid this as she followed Sid out

Sid noticed nothing. She slung an arm around Grace's shoulders and steered her down a hallway that would lead to another corridor where she knew there were some available bedrooms. She started humming, which quickly morphed into off-key singing. "Feels like I have always known you. And I swear I dreamt about you, all those endless nights I was alone. It's like I spent foreveeer searching. Now I know that it was worth it. With you it feels like I am finally hooome!" She suddenly released Grace and did a quick flip through the air. "Falling head over heels! Thought I kneeew how it feels! But with you it's like - " she whirled to face Grace again, grinning. " - the first day of my life!" She continued singing, switching her hips from side to side, doing flips every time she got to the 'head over heels' line. By the time she finished with, "I can't help but surrender, my everything to you," they had reached a door. She flung it open to reveal an elegantly furnished room empty of personal touches. The castle had once been a hotel and had come with all the furniture from the hotel days. "Like it? Hate it?" she asked.

"It's... Beautiful." Grace said as she walked in. She began touching everything gently, exploring every corner of the room, taking in smells and sights hungrily.

"Love it, then," Sid nodded, as though checking Grace off on a list. "It's yours if you want it," she explained. Bending over, she stretched until her hands touched the floor. Then she pulled herself into a handstand, blocking the door. "Oh look, your bed's on the ceiling!"

Grace looked up, and was shocked to see that indeed it was up in the ceiling. "Why is the bed in the ceiling?" She asked absentmindedly.
