Sid had been up in one of the unoccupied towers for the last half an hour, trying to find a secret passageway. She had no idea if there were actually any up there, but the room was empty and no one was going to ask her what she was doing in their room because it didn’t belong to anyone, so why not? She shoved against places in the window frame, crawled under the bed to look for a trapdoor, and tried turning the taps in the adjoining bathroom because she remembered that the Chamber of Secrets in the Harry Potter books was opened with a tap. She also tried hissing at the sink, which obviously didn’t do anything. Striding into the bedroom again, she stared at the wall and yelled, “OPEN SESAME!” Then her eyes fell on the closet and she realized there was one place she hadn’t looked. She flung the doors open and proceeded to give it a not-so-thorough examination. When she got to the back of the closet, she leaned against the wall, bored. Something shifted under her elbow and next thing she knew, she’d fallen backward through a doorway that had definitely not been there before. Sneezes exploded out of her as long-stale air swirled around her.

Yoshi leaned against the wall in the room with Sid, watching her in amusement as she pushed and shoved the room, and crawled under things. He shifted forward to watch her go into the closet with a smirk on his face. His eyebrows rose when he heard the whoosh of air and sneezes, so he pushed off the wall and went to look. When he didn't see his Sid, he called out for her.

“Here,” Sid croaked, hearing his calls for her. She crawled on all fours back into the closet proper. “I need a tissue.” She scrambled over to him, and, with a wicked grin, made as though she was going to wipe her streaming nose on his pants. Just then, she sneezed several more times in quick succession. “Well, that works, too,” she decided when she could speak, and crawled out of the closet. In the bathroom, she wiped her nose on toilet paper, then returned to the closet. “So, like, I totally did find a secret passage, no thanks to you,” she said, sticking her tongue out at him. “Shall we explore it, my lazy dinosaur?”

Yoshi recoiled when his pants were threatened with snot. "Bless you!" He grinned once Sid had finished her sneezing. Once Sid had cleaned her nose up and was back to the closet he went to her and wrapped an arm around her waist. "I'm lazy because I care. And yes, let us explore! Raaaaaawr!!!" He proceeded to push Sid down the slope beyond the enterance to the not-so-secret passage-way, making sure she landed on her bottom. "Geranamo!" He held his nose as if jumping into water, and slid down it on his rump. He landed at the base just behind Sid. He licked flicked his tongue out against the top of her ear, before whispering "Boo."

“How does – “ Sid started, but didn’t get to finish her inquiries on his laziness because he’d already shoved her into the passageway. She raised her hands above her head and squealed: “Wheeeeee!” all the way to the bottom, sounding just like a kid on an amusement park ride. She twitched when she felt his tongue on her ear and twisted her head to try and catch his tongue between her teeth. She was a bit too late, though, so instead she pecked him on the lips, then got to her feet. “You know, Evie told me once that ghosts don’t say ‘Boo’ or talk all weird,” she informed him. “So you must have been talking about Bou. But why would you do that when he’s not here? Or is he?” She looked suspiciously at Yoshi’s shirt as though she thought he was hiding Bou under there.

Yoshi wrapped his arms over his stomach. "My Bou!!" He hissed at Sid for a moment, but was only kidding. He stood and helped Sid to her feet, before crouching a little and stalking foward in the passage way, dust covering the walls and floor. As they ventured deeper into the passage way, Yoshi noticed candles mounted on the wall. "It's kinda dark, but I don't have any matches or a lighter. Maybe...." He tried to snap his fingers to make a fire but, obiovusly, it failed epically. "Damn! Siddiekins, do you have my liiiighter?" It was a shot in the dark, but it was worth a try.

Sid giggled at Yoshi, then followed him down the passage. “Since when do you have a lighter?” she wanted to know. “What do you need one for, to set fire to anything pink?” She reached into her back pocket and pulled out the flashlight she’d stowed there on the off chance she did find a passageway. It was an itty bitty little thing that hung off a keychain. She flicked it on and tossed it at him. “Here’s your lighter, light of my heart.”

"I've had one ever since I had the urge to set things on fire." Yoshi grinned at Sid, but didn't want to admit he started smoking, but was actively trying to stop. "And yes, Pink must die." He nodded contently but fumbled to catch the mini flashlight. Once he did, he aimed it ahead of them, looking quite silly. "I feel like a giant." He chuckled. As they ventured further into the passage way, black, cast-iron spikes were stuck into the wall, and metal rings were also evident. Some still had leather bands tied to them, as if they were still holding a prisoner. Yoshi got a chill down his back, but didn't recoil. Instead he stepped closer to Sid, and put a protective arm around her.
"Maybe we should've brought Eva..." He didn't know if he was imagining the odd feelings, but having Eva to scare away any ghosts (if there were any) would have made him feel better. His grip tightened on Sid, as it suddenly got colder in the tunnel. The air held an extreme serious feel, and the tension was thick. Yoshi shined the flashlight on the walls as they slowly walked forward, "Ghosts creep me out." He mentioned, "And you smell good."
As they made their way toward what looked like a dead end, Yoshi relaxed. He gave a heavy sigh of relief, and leaned against the dead end, before it suddenly gave, the wall crumbling behind him (for it was meant to be a false wall) and he fell down into a pit full of...animal bones? Yes, they were animal, and not human. As he fell, he screamed a rather manly scream, which was a tad surprising. "SID!" he called out, scrambling to stand up and get his bearings. It was completely dark down where he was, but he had luckily not broken any of his bones. "S-sid, I..I think I'm ... I think I'm leaking!" He stood up, being careful about his surroundings. The pit was 15 feet deep, and Yoshi was 8 feet 10 inches too short.
He walked forward and shined his flashlight about, seeing that he was definitely alone, and the pit wasn't very wide. He gingerly pressed his fingers to his face, finding a cut from the corner of his lip to about an inch from his ear. He cut himself on the animal bones when he landed in them. He examined where he fell, and noticed that it looked like something had been down there before him, gnawing on the bones and making them sharp. Something was living under the castle....
"Sid, uhm, I think I'm about to be a snack..." Yoshi's voice shook uncontrollably, and he turned around quickly, catching the leg of his plain skinny jeans on another bone, tearing it at his ankle, and slicing his skin. He didn't know what to do.

Sid stared around at the strange instruments on the walls. They looked rather creepy, and it didn’t help that the flashlight only cast a small circle of light, which made the shadows very big. She jumped a little when Yoshi wrapped his arm around her, having gotten way too absorbed in thoughts of torture. “Actually, I think it’s better that we didn’t bring Evie,” she said, resting her head on his shoulder. “I really don’t want to know the stories of these ghosts, if there are any ghosts of course.” She shivered when she felt a sudden draft coming from up ahead, and really wished she was wearing something more than a tanktop and a pair of shorts. “But ghosts can’t hurt anyone,” she pointed out, remembering when Eva had been the mouthpiece for her mother. “I don’t think most of them want to, actually. Hurt anyone, I mean.” She ignored his comment about her smelling good. She didn’t really want to add Yoshi drinking her blood to her list of things to freak her out right then. She did shift a little bit away from him, just in case.
When Yoshi went to lean against the wall, she started to warn him, remembering the wall in the closet: “Yoshi, maybe you shou – “ She interrupted herself to shriek along with him as he disappeared in a cascade of stones. “YOSHI!” she yelled, alone in the dark and the cold. She stood frozen for a moment, her eyes searching. Then she heard his answering shout. She snorted in spite of herself at the last bit. “Thank you for that lovely image,” she called down to him, her eyes finally spotting the tiny pinprick of light many feet below her.
And then the scent hit her. Not the scent of dead animals, that was hardly noticeable because they were pretty much bones. No, what hit her smelled a thousand, a million times better than animal blood, better than human blood, and that was supposed to be the best blood out there. It smelled like…like…the best, the absolute best chocolate cake in the world. And that cake had whipped cream on it, and sprinkles…she inhaled with both her mouth and nose, sinking into her hunter’s crouch. She must be quiet, she must be stealthy. You couldn’t catch a snack by yelling at them and waving your arms. Slowly, she crept to the edge of the pit and jumped. She didn’t need her sight now, she had years of cheerleading and her Meypire side to make sure she didn’t break her neck. However, she hadn’t accounted for the animal bones. When she landed, she made an audible crunching sound and skidded a little. She quickly straightened up and leaped again, this time for her snack.
She landed on it, sending it to the floor. Her tongue lapped hungrily at the long cut on its face. How long had it been since she had drunk from something alive? Too long. She was never drinking refrigerated blood again. She bit down, creating a larger gash so that more of the sweet chocolate cake could fill her mouth. No, that was the wrong analogy. She could only stand so much cake. But this, this she could drink forever, and never get sick of it. Humans had not invented a food that tasted this amazing.
She did not realize she was drinking from her boyfriend.

Yoshi was trying to step his way around the stones that fell with him and the bones when he looked up from his feet just in time to see Sid's face before they connected and he was knocked to the ground. Sid's teeth turn the thin cut into a large open wound; you could see the muscle inside his cheek. Adrenaline immediately sent him into a panic. He hadn't consumed blood in quite sometime, so he was a bit weak and couldn't manage to push the blood-crazed girl off him.
"Sid!" He cried out, in a fit of pain. He was starting to get dizzy, black rimming his vision. He felt a little loopy due to the blood loss and ultimately hitting his head when he fell...twice. In this state, the pain dulled just the slightest bit, as his pushes against Sid slowly stopped, each one declining in force. He grew into submission, actually starting to . . . like the feeling. Which was probably just due to the blood loss.
"Seh.." He said in an odd attempt at "Sid." "Seh, you're ...hurting me.."

Sid ignored the whimpers of her prey, most of her attention on her snack. Since she was half-vampire, she didn’t need or want as much blood as a full-vampire would have, but it was still hard to draw away from this delicacy. But then she realized she’d forgotten something. She always tried to make sure her prey suffered as little pain as possible, which meant breaking their necks so they couldn’t feel anything. Oh well, it was only an animal, after all. She sat up, and for the first time she realized that what she had tackled was oddly human-shaped, er, vampire-shaped. Her blood-crazed mind dropped from its high faster than Yoshi had fallen into the pit. She grabbed for the flashlight that lay a few feet from them and held it to Yoshi’s face. “Oh my god, nononono!” she shouted in horror, realizing what she’d done. “Shit, Yoshi, can you hear me?!” She held the light close to his eyes and tried to tell if he was conscious, but she was no doctor and the flashlight wasn’t that strong, so she had no idea. She did, however, know that bleeding had to be stopped. So she pulled her tanktop off, thankful that she was wearing a gym bra underneath it. She wadded it up and pressed it to the wound, turning her face away. She couldn’t believe she had done this. She usually had such good control. What the hell was wrong with her?
She glanced back at him. “Yoshi, I’m sorry, I’m sorry!” she said over and over again, tears pooling in her eyes and spilling down her cheeks.

Yoshi felt Sid withdraw her teeth, but was so close to blackness he didn't know what she was doing or where he was. "Seh, you have a pretty tummy." He giggled when she took her tank top off, but his face was pushed to the side and his cheeks squished. His cheek started to sting from the fabric being pushed into an open wound. "Whoah, is this a giant...brownie!?" He tried to pick up one of the bricks next to him but couldn't. "I...need a ...smo--" His voice trailed off as he finally passed the brink of conscious and everything was silent and black to him. If Sid was planning on him helping get out of the pit, well,...naaah.

(Warning: eyemelter ahead)
“Yoshi!” Sid exclaimed in relief, which quickly turned to fear as he seemed to lose consciousness. “Yoshi!” she exclaimed again. He must have hit his head pretty hard. She took inventory of the situation. Her tank was getting soaked, and she had just found the cut on his ankle. Since that one was pretty shallow, she left it alone and tried to think, which was harder than it sounded because her nose was still filled with the scent of Yoshi and she had to remind herself over and over again that he was her boyfriend, not a snack.
Obviously, they needed to get back into the castle proper and find someone who could help. But first, they needed to get out of this pit. She held the flashlight up with her free hand and looked around. From what she could remember of her drop, they had fallen about fifteen feet. So there was no way she could get up there carrying Yoshi. She might be able to climb alone, but she was not leaving him behind, not in the state he was in. There had to be a way out of this pit. Someone had obviously built it – it hadn’t just appeared out of thin air for them to fall into. So therefore, there had to be a way out that didn’t involve climbing. She carefully knelt by Yoshi and picked him up, but quickly discovered that this wouldn’t work because she couldn’t carry him and keep pressure on his wound. So she set him down again and crouched beside him, fighting the tears of despair that kept welling up in her. She had to be strong and tough, or he was going to die because of her. The thought made her shiver, but it also brought her to her senses and she dashed her tears away with the back of her hand. Think, Sid, think!
And then she spotted the belt around his waist. Of course! She carefully unlooped it and also took his shirt off since he was bleeding so heavily that her own shirt was thoroughly soaked. She waded his shirt around her top, stuffed them both against his face, and then belted them on. The belt wound up resting across his mouth, but there wasn’t another way to put it on and keep the fabric in place. Then she stuck her finger through the ring on the flashlight’s chain and picked Yoshi up again.
She went to where they’d fallen in and followed the curve of the pit. As the seconds ticked by with no sign of an exit, she grew more and more frantic. Why couldn’t she have controlled herself? Why couldn’t she just have held her breath? Why did his blood have to be so delicious? She bit down so hard on her own lip that she too started bleeding, but at least that distracted her. The acrid taste of her own blood drew her mind back to the problem at hand and she squinted at the wall.
And finally she found it, directly opposite from where they’d fallen in. A thick door with scratch marks and dried blood all down it. She ignored these and shoved against the door with all her might. It opened reluctantly and she slipped through the gap. She found herself facing a set of stairs, which she headed down. They took forever, or maybe it just felt that way because she was holding a very tasty armful and had to resist as hard as she could. Several times she almost started licking at him again, but each time she would suck on or bite her lip hard enough to make her remember that it was bad to want to eat Yoshi.
And then they finally reached the true end, another thick door, this one much cleaner, apart from the dust. The room she found herself and Yoshi in was full of more metal objects and a big table, but she ignored these in favor of a third door, which she practically ran for. She shoved it open and found that on the other side was an ordinary office. The door she had come through was disguised as a bookcase on this side. She almost thought this was Merik or Erik’s office, but she remembered then that it was in the dungeons. She left the room by what she hoped would be the last door she saw for a while and followed a tunnel she knew – she had explored the dungeons a few times on rainy days. And if she was right, then just around this bend there would be stairs…
Of course, she was right. She hurtled up the ateps, conscious of how long Yoshi had been unconscious. The stairs led to a familiar hallway on the first floor and she allowed herself to take a deep breath. Then she yelled: “HELP! ANGEL, ERIK, SOMEONE, HEEEELP!” She repeated this message over and over as she ran for the family room, the place where everyone went at some point in their day. She set Yoshi down on the couch, blood dripping onto it, and ran from the room. If anyone could help her, it would be one of the healers.
Not having time to run all over the castle looking for someone, she simply hunted for Angel’s scent, which was all over the place. Just as she started up the stairs, the little girl, dressed in her usual pink and carrying her doll, appeared at the top. “Where have you been – “ she started, then her nostrils flared. “Siddie, why are you covered in blood?”
“No time to explain,” Sid said hurriedly. “I need your help, quick! C’mere!” She beckoned for the little girl to follow her back downstairs. Angel could hear the note of fear in Sid’s voice and followed her. Even though she was young, she knew when not to raise a fuss.
When they reached the family room, Angel’s eyes widened and she shrieked. “What happened to Yoshi?” she asked, staring at him. Yes, she was half-vampyr and drank blood, but that didn’t mean she was used to seeing a person covered in it.
“Never mind that,” Sid said, crouching by Yoshi and pressing her makeshift bandage to his cheek. “Angel, do you remember when you healed Tulsi? When you healed Kiara?”
Angel nodded.
“Well, can you do that for Yoshi?” She had resolved that she would never ask Angel to heal again, but now she had to eat her resolution. Otherwise her boyfriend might well bleed to death.
“Yes,” Angel answered solemnly. She moved closer to Yoshi, cringing at the sight of blood on him. It wasn’t a siren song to her like it was to Sid, perhaps because some of the same kind of blood ran through her veins. Or maybe because she’d just had supper. She laid her small hand on Yoshi’s face and closed her eyes, like she remembered she did when she healed Tulsi. Pink sparks jumped from her fingers and into his skin, where they vanished to anyone who was watching. But in Angel’s head, she knitted together skin and muscle and healed the bruising on his brain.
When Angel withdrew, Yoshi was completely healed. She swayed on the spot, then sat down heavily on the floor. “I’m tiiired,” she said drowsily, yawning. She grabbed her doll from where she’d dropped it and used it as a pillow.
Sid slowly removed the wet shirts from Yoshi’s healed cheek and sat down hard herself. Despite the fresh blood she’d drunk, she felt exhausted. She glanced at Angel, worried. What if she didn’t wake up? Sure, she’d woken up after healing Tulsi, but that was then. This was now. Was Sid sacrificing one for the other? She wasn’t, but Angel’s ability was still so new and hadn’t really been tested that Sid didn’t really know what to think.
At least Yoshi was alive.

(forgive me ahead of time if I don't get him exactly right b/c I don't know the extend of Angel's magicalness :3)
After all the time that had past, and the while that had past while Sid and Angel sat there, Yoshi's eyes finally opened, slowly at first, but then they got wide in an instant with a sharp intake of breath. He bolted upward, but regretted it soon afterward, feeling extremely light headed. He held his head in his hands, leaning so his head was between his knees, which were pulled up almost to his chest. Once it had subsided for now he looked up at let the images rest from their swirling positions and gingerly touched his fingers to his face, running them over where the gash used to be. He also felt that he had a belt print on his face, but didn't really want that elaborated.
Dried blood clung to his face still, but other than that not a scratch was on him; not even his ankle. He soon took notice that he was shirtless, as details started to come back to him. He was on a couch...in the living room? Was this a dream? Or had the whole dungeon been a dream? No, the headache he had was real, and he specifically remembered that little flashlight. He turned to see Sid, but he had a bewildered expression, almost asking for an explanation that he already knew.
Yoshi never specifically showed fear when it wasn't life-threatening, because he always wanted to put of an air of confidence and fearless-ness. But a glint of fear shown in his eye as he looked at Sid, his blood on the corner of her lips and all over the makeshift band aids next to her. He also took notice that she was without a shirt and just a sports bra, but decided that wasn't of importance. He was a boy. His gaze swept over Angel, and worry striked his expression but he didn't want to break the tense silence.
To be honest, he wanted to cry.

(I feel so evilly gleeful because Yoshi finally got his just desserts >:3 And you did wonderful, I don’t have a problem with how you portrayed the healing)
Sid had been staring listlessly at Angel when Yoshi stirred, but as soon as she heard him gasp her head whipped around so fast she got a crick. She rubbed her neck as she watched him take stock of the situation. “Yoshi?” she whispered as he finally looked at her. “Yoshi, I’m sorry, I really am. I don’t know what came over me. Well, I do. But you know what I mean. You should’ve smelled yourself, Yoshi, you smelled amazing. And I – I just…lost control…” Her voice trailed off and she took a deep, shuddering breath. The rags didn’t smell so good now that they’d been sitting around for a while, so she didn’t feel any more bloodlust. “I am sorry,” she whispered, looking into his bright blue eyes beseechingly.
Angel didn’t even stir.
