Merik thanked the teleporter who brought himself and Eva back underground, but didn't waste any time getting to the lab to return whatever weaponry had managed to survive the trip. Thankfully, the Kentarou family sensed his mood and didn't ask any questions just yet, and he was grateful for the water and clean shirt they had laid out for him as he washed himself.
When he finished, he turned to Eva, glad that he had had a few moments to compose himself, so he didn't look like he was about to cry anymore. He knew they weren't close to forgiving each other yet, but he still held out his hand for hers. When she didn't take it right away, he rolled his eyes and grabbed her arm, nodding a thanks to Mia, Katya, and Emika as he ushered her past. He didn't lead her very far, just until he found an empty room, and he pulled her inside. He shut the door for privacy and pulled his shirt off, the thickness of it would just get in the way of his intentions, and he sat down on the first chair he saw.
"Here," he told her, pulling his hair away from his neck as he motioned to the other chair directly in front of him. "Or you can sit and I can kneel, whichever is more convenient... unless you'd rather..." he trailed off, pulling his wrist bands off and offered his wrist. "If the neck is too close," he shrugged, wondering whether she understood what he was offering.

Eva stripped off her belt full of grenades and guns, and removed the knife that was in her boot, putting them away and placing the guns in a bin so they could be reloaded. There was also a clean shirt for her, which she replaced with the blood covered one she had now, and had no problem doing because it was just the girls and Merik in the room. She let Emika bandage her arm after refusing to go get it healed. The healers were busy enough as it was, and her wound would eventually heal on its own.
After thanking Emika, she was about to leave until she noticed Merik hold his hand out to her. She just looked at it, not sure whether to take it or not because she was still angry at him, but he had grabbed onto her arm anyway, which she didn't shrug off. She followed him silently, a little confused as to why he led her into an empty room. That was, until he moved his hair away from his neck.
"I-I shouldn't," she said, biting her lip. She wasn't disagreeing because she was angry at him, but because she knew he was thirsty too and feeding from him wasn't going to help. She had been craving his blood earlier though, so his offer was really hard to refuse, especially with the constant burning in her throat. She was very fidgety now, taking a step forward and then a step back because she was having trouble not going over to him and accepting his offer. "You're h-hungry too."

"You should. Blood is healthier for you than what they're serving in the cafeteria, and you need to replenish your supply. You'll be taking less than what you lost, so don't feel bad. I'll be fine once I've had a decent meal, and I'll grab something before I go visit with Tristan," Merik assured Eva, offering his hand to her once more. He turned it over and made a motion for her to come to him, curling his index and middle fingers. When she didn't come to him right away, he sighed and put his thumb nail at the base of his neck.
"Either you do it yourself, or I will," he told her, knowing that her defense wasn't very strong and she could be convinced easily to drink from him. Slowly, he drew his nail across his skin so that a few tiny beads of blood surfaced, and he hoped the smell would be enough to get her to do what needed to be done. At this thought, he let his hands drop into his lap and he evaded her gaze. He was doing it again... making her decisions for her when she could make them herself. Maybe he was a bit controlling, but she knew she could put up a fight with him if she wanted to. They were both too head-strong for their own good.

Eva still didn't budge even after hearing Merik's reasons and when he motioned her towards him. She didn't want to weaken Merik more than he already was. Her eyes widened though when she smelt his fresh blood in the air, and she couldn't control her body any longer. She didn't waste time breaking the space between them, and she practically tackled him in order to get to him sooner. Her teeth immediately sunk into the area where he had drawn blood, and her hands fisted into his arm and hair to keep him in place. A predatory growl rumbled in her chest as she leaned in more to get easier access and drink from him, being much more animal than usual from being so thirsty. It took a while before she managed to pry her mouth away from his neck, and when she did she was gasping for air because she wanted more, but knew she shouldn't and she rested her forehead on his shoulder to calm down.

Merik braced himself for Eva when he sensed her decision to tackle him, but he wasn't prepared for her to come at him with such force. The chair slid backwards, the legs scraping against the cement, and would've tipped over if it hadn't come into contact with the wall. He had thrown his free arm around her out of instinct, as if she would've helped keep them from falling, though that was far from the case. His other arm was being pinned by Eva, her nails digging into his skin painfully, but only for a moment. The hiss he had exclaimed when she bit him was momentary, and soon he was putty in her demanding hands, despite the quickness of his breath. "Evie..." he whispered, disoriented, and he let out a small whine. "Don't... hate me." He soon had tears coming down his face, and his free hand clung limply to her, still under the effect of her bite.

Eva slowly lifted her head at hearing Merik's voice and looked at him, a bit of blood still remaining on his neck which she brushed away with her fingers tips. She couldn't hate him, especially now when he looked so vulnerable. "Shhhh, don't cry, I don't hate you" she assured him, wiping away his tears before leaning forward to rest her forehead against his. "Just... just promise you won't do that again," she said, her eyes reflecting the emotions she held when she had found out that he had gone above ground. "When I heard you had gone and had been missing for hours I got so scared. I thought of the worst possible things that could have happened to you, that you had been beaten up badly or caught, or that no one would be able to find you or you couldn't get back.... So please, just don't," she begged, bearing her own tears now.

Merik closed his eyes and tried his best not to sniffle, which was difficult because once the tears had started, they brought along everything else associated with them. Luckily, he wasn't snotting [XD], but his nose did get a bit stuffy. In the back of his mind, he knew he probably looked pathetic, but that wasn't what he cared about at that moment. "I'm sorry, it wasn't supposed to go like it did," he defended, reaching up to gently cup Eva's face. "I couldn't help that it happened, but... but... but," he faltered, unable to keep a firm grip on his train of thought while still disoriented. Wetness on his face made him open his eyes and they widened when he saw she was crying, too. "I was coming back to you," he told her, trying his best to comfort her, though his limbs were heavy and his brain was sluggish. "I was coming back to you."

"Then how was it suppose to go then? You go up, finish the mission quickly and come back and pretend like it didn't happen? Just lie to me?" Eva asked, her frustration coming back though it was not nearly as bad as it was before. She wasn't yelling either, her voice was shaky because she was still crying. "But I didn't know that! How was I suppose to know that?! I had no clue where you were, and nor did anyone else!" she argued. "For all I knew, you could have been dead!" She figured she would have felt if he had, but the idea had still crossed her mind. She turned her face away from him, wiping her face frantically and trying to control her breathing that was just as shaky as her voice. She became more upset when she realized that he hadn't promised her that he wouldn't go above ground alone/without telling her, which didn't help her calm down. It only made things worse.

"No!" Merik shook his head. He wished he hadn't, but the fogginess was starting to fade away and normal thought was easier to manage. "No, not like that! I would've told you, but only afterwards. I knew you would be angry, I expected it, but I was told it was one of the safer missions and they were in a tight bind. I knew I could do what needed to be done, but I didn't have the time to find you," he explained. He didn't like the way they were leaned against the wall, and he stifled a groan as the legs of the chair met the concrete of the floor. "Plus, I would've called. Once I was safe and I knew I wasn't being list- oh shit," he paused, letting his mind draw back to their argument while aboveground. "Evie... do you think they heard us?" he whispered, though he knew they didn't need to anymore. His breathing was coming in short, rugged breaths again, but this time because he was anxious about everything they had said and what might've been caught on camera or satellite. Frantically, he moved Eva off of him and didn't bother with grabbing his shirt before he went to the door. "I need to see Tristan, maybe he can intercept and get rid of the recordings or something! We'll talk later!" And with that, he left the room.

"Oh please, it would only take you a second to find me," Eva huffed, thinking that was a lame excuse. She blinked when he stopped in his sentence to swear, and hardly had time to react to his question before she was shoved off of him and he was gone out of the door. She stood there fuming for a moment before she stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind her and making her way back home. Someone definitely wasn't going to be allowed in bed tonight.

~sometime later~ Merik stood outside the front door to his apartment, a bit worried for what he was going to enter to. He decided that it would be better to get it over with sooner rather than later, or he was going to spend the rest of eternity on the sofa. As quietly as he could, he unlocked the door and walked inside, shutting the door and relocking it as silently as he could. He held his breath as he stepped into the front hallway, then peeked around the corner of the family room. He twitched his nose when he saw his pillow still there, then let out the breath he had been holding. "Evie...?" he called out, wrapping his arms around himself as if he were shielding himself from another verbal attack.

Eva was busying taking out Merik's clothes from in the closet and throwing them out their bedroom door. At first she only started by putting his knickers and pajamas out of their room so he wouldn't need to come in at bedtime, but she didn't want him coming in for any other reason either so if he wasn't sleeping in their room, nor had anything clothes in there now, then he didn't have an excuse to enter. She paused for a moment when she heard Merik call her name, but she didn't respond. She was tired of arguing with him so she was going with the silent treatment right now, though she wasn't sure how long she was going to be able to hold her tongue. Ignoring Merik, she continued with her work of getting his clothes out of their room.

Merik continued on down the hallway until he reached their room, facepalming and sliding his hand down his face when he saw what Eva had gotten to while he had been meeting with Tristan. "So this is how it's going to be, eh? We get into a fight and I'm kicked out for good? Very mature," he said, leaning against the doorway as he watched her continue with her goal. "There are a few of my undershirts in the third drawer that I think you've missed," he added after a while, now crossing his arms as he waited to see whether she was going to thoroughly finish her job. "Well, since you're obviously not speaking to me, I guess I'll share with you what Tristan managed to find out," he told her, taking a deep breath. "He thinks we'll be deliberately hunted now, since they know our names and that we're important to the coven. He said it was only a matter of time before they figured out that we were married, as well as being mission partners, so that's not too much of a problem. He wasn't able to intercept the cameras before they transmitted, so they probably have a closeup of what I look like. The Kentarous think its a good idea that we stay below for a while," he explained, leaning his head against the doorway now. He was exhausted, and he had forgotten to go by the cafeteria.

Eva ignored Merik when he spoke to her, continuing to empty out the clothes until there was no article of clothing that was owned by him in the closet. When he mentioned the undershirts, she went over to the drawer, took out the whole thing and just dropped it on the pile. As she did this, she avoided eye contact with him the whole time. She stood still when he started to explain his conversation with Tristan, leaning against the wall. She couldn't help being more afraid of going above ground now because the enemy knew who they were now. Inside she was panicking, but she didn't show it on the outside. Instead, she focused on that it was his fault that happened. "Mission partners? No, I think you're mistaken. My partner wouldn't leave me behind," she said, crossing her arms and staring a hole into the opposite wall. "I promise that I won't go above, so they won't need to worry. But they may want to watch out for you. I know very well that you can't keep promises."

Merik frowned as he watched how Eva reacted to what he told her, and he ended up chewing his bottom lip when she just continued to pile up his clothes. Letting out a sigh, he gathered them all up and tossed them into the guest room. He doubted she would even allow him to room there, either, so he figured he had better get used to the idea of sleeping on the couch. He grabbed his shower things from the floor where Eva left them, and was about to head to the shower when she finally spoke. "One time!" he exclaimed. "I left you behind one time, and you're going to hang it over my head like some sort of label, aren't you? I thought it would be better if you rested, forgive me for showing a bit of concern. If you can," he added as an afterthought. "And I never promised I wouldn't do anything. Would it help if I promised now?"
