Remiel had been in the kitchen, making himself something to eat. He had finally dragged his butt from out of his room today, since earlier he hadn't felt like talking to anyone, but his hunger finally got to him. Sure he had been out and about the day before, but only for the necessary things. As he had made his food, he had kept one of his hands, the still injured one, at his side unless it was absolutely necessary to use it, which wasn't very often. After he had made his food he made his way over to the dining hall.
He walked into the dining hall with his tray in his hands, not much on it. Just a couple sandwiches, an apple, and a glass of juice. He looked around the room and saw Angel's familiar face and momentarily forgot what had gone on between them, but soon it all came back and his expression fell slightly and he went and picked a table on the opposite side Angel was on. He set the tray down, which he had been carrying with one hand, and then sat down himself. He awkwardly placed his injured right hand on his lap and ate using his left hand, which wasn't normal for him, but it worked and didn't hurt so he wasn't going to complain. He picked up his sand which with his left hand and took a bite out of it, listening to all the chattering of other's around the room as he did so, but not saying to anyone himself.

Angel's wandering eyes caught the flash of familiar brown curls as Remiel paused outside the kitchen. She quickly looked away, but not before he had glanced at her himself. She was glad that he chose to go to another table, really not in the mood to talk to him, of all people. However, she couldn't seem to find anything more interesting to fix her gaze on. She kept sneaking covert peeps at him, glad that he did not look up again. The more she looked at him, the more she realized something was off. Wasn't he right-handed? Her stomach clenched in sudden fear. Could he have lost his hand?!
She jumped to her feet, hardly realizing what she was doing, and hurried across the room, stopping beside his chair. Without so much as a 'hello', she pulled his right arm off his lap and felt relieved when she saw that he still had a hand attached to the wrist. A useless hand, though, for under her gentle fingers she could feel swelling. She stripped the cloth off roughly, knowing that her ability was already dulling the pain. Bright yellow-white sparks, the color of the edges of the sun, blazed around the outline her hand made against his larger one. They sank into his flesh, quickly healing the injuries that were still there even after two days of healing. When she opened her eyes - having closed them to see where to focus her energy - she scowled at Remiel. "Why didn't you get this treated first chance you had?" she demanded, assuming a superhuman had inflicted the injury.

Remiel had been in the middle of biting his sandwich when he was suddenly startled to find Angel right next to him, so startled in fact that he nearly chocked on his food. Seeing as he was having a coughing fit he couldn't exactly answer the question that she had asked him, but he did realize that she had roughly taken off the bandage around his hand and winced when he did so. He also felt as she healed his hand, even thought he didn't see it, seeing as he knew the feeling of her power of healing all too well from over the years.
He took a long drink from his juice and was finally able to stop coughing, so he could answer her, even though his voice was a bit scratchy now. "Geeze Angel, a little warning next time would be nice. And the injury was just an accident and I figured it heal fine by itself without the help," he said, lying a tad when he said it was an accident, since he had purposely punched the wall and knew what would happen afterwards, but the rest of what he'd said was true. He also didn't use his nickname for her that he usually used, so you could tell he wasn't feeling too pleasant towards Angel at that moment. He was tired of her pushing him away, so he didn't want to take any more chances and get his hopes up for something that probably wasn't going to get solved at the present time.

Angel waited out his coughing fit, expressionless. She did not seem to realize that she was still cradling his hand in both her own. “Fine, I’ll let you keep your next injury for however long it takes to heal naturally,” she responded, dropping his limb onto the table as though it were hot. She stuffed her fists into her pockets. “What did you do, lay in front of a car and ask them to roll over it?”

Remiel pinched the bridge of his nose and then let his hand fall down his face tiredly, seeing as he hadn't slept to week for a little over the past week. He had realized that he hadn't even thanked Angel for healing his hand as soon as she'd let go of his hand and when it dropped onto the table. "I do appreciate you're help...so thanks," he said a bit quietly. He froze after hearing her next question and wasn't sure he wanted to answer. He knew though that she would most likey bug him about it until he told her so he decided he might as well get it over with now. "I kinda sorta...punched a wall..." he said, although the 'punched a wall part was sort of broken up, spoken quietly, and not said to clearly so she might not have been able to understand what he'd said. He wasn't proud of what he ahd done, but what's done was done and he had to live with the consequences, including looking like an idoit for doing that.

Angel accepted his thanks without comment, acknowledging it with a slight nod. Her eyes widened when he explained what he had done. “Excuse me, did you just say you punched a wall?” she cried. “Were you aiming for someone’s nose?” She surveyed him again, wondering if there were other injuries she hadn’t noticed from the fight she was imagining. He seemed to be in good shape, though. She supposed bruises would have faded already.

Remiel shook his head when she asked if he had been aiming for someone's nose. "Nope...I just sorta punched it," he said with a slight shrug, trying to act like it was no big deal. He hadn't really minded his hand being hurt actually, since the pain in his hand had helped to keep his mind distracted from whatever it was that was going on between him and Angel. He knew she probably wouldn't like that he had willingly punched a wall, but it's not like he had been there or done anything to stop him either, so he would just have to deal with however she took his response.

"You 'just sort of punched it'," Angel repeated, her face blank. She suddenly grabbed his arm again and yanked up his sleeve, expecting to see the kind of scars a person would get if they cut themselves. But nothing new was there. She grabbed his other arm and pulled that sleeve up too, only to be met with a similiarly healthy limb. "Well, at least you haven't made a habit of self-injury. That's something." She fixed him with a reproachful look. "Don't you dare turn into one of those morons who hurt themselves on purpose."

Remiel just sorta rolled his eyes as she checked out his arms, already knowing what was on her mind, but didn't bother to say anything. Of course he'd never do anything like that. When it appeared she was done checking him over he gave her a sort of look that basically said 'satisfied?'. At her next statement he decided not to look at her, since all she seemed to be doing lately was either glaring or giving him looks. "Well of course I'm not going to do that. That's just plain stupid. I was angry and wasn't thinking clearly when I punched the wall. That's all there was to it. No need to dig any further into it, because there's nothing to find" he replied, still avoiding looking at her. He was a little upset that she had even thought that about him, I mean, didn't she even know him at all? He did start flexing the fingers on his now uninjured hand, realizing just how good it felt to be able to properly move and use that hand now.

Angel rolled her eyes, crossing her arms over her chest as she sat on the edge of the table. Evidently she wasn’t going to be satisfied that easily. “If you were angry enough to go punching walls, then evidently there’s more to find. Spit it out, Remiel.” She grabbed his chin, much like Sid used to do to her, and forced him to face her.

Remiel realized that Angel wasn't going to let this go and he sighed, rubbing his face with his now fixed right hand, before being forced to look at Angel. "I don't know what to tell you. I was upset at you for refusing to talk to me and I was angry at myself for doing whatever it was to make you act like this towards me," he said, pausing for a moment before continuing. "And why does it matter to you anyways? I mean two days ago you would barely even speak to me, and you've been avoiding me for over a week. I was so confused, angry, and frustrated and I didn't want to take it out on you, so I took it out on the wall instead." After saying that he moved forcefully removed his chin from her grasp and looked away from her, not exactly wanting to see her reaction, since lately all she had done was scold, yell, and snap at him, along with calling him stupid.

Angel’s expression was at first one of neutrality, but after his pause, her brows pointed downwards. She recrossed her arms after he jerked his chin out of her hold. “Idiot,” she snapped. “I care, alright? I don’t always show it in the kindest way, but I care, and don’t you forget it. I’ve been avoiding you because I’m mad at myself!” A few seconds later, she suddenly let out a bark of laughter, her expression relaxing. “We’re both upset at ourselves!"

Remiel's expression had been about the same as Angel's had been before she started laughing, although he couldn't help but to laugh slightly along with her. His look then grew curious and a tad more serious. "Why are you angry with yourself?" he was concerned about her, not because he didn't think she could take care of herself but just because he cared about her and didn't like when she was upset or angry.

Almost at once, Angel's look of amusement was replaced by a look of something that was harder to define. It was almost a guilty expression. She kicked lightly at his chair leg, not meeting his gaze. She was having a dialogue with herself, not like Drake sometimes did, but the old-fashioned kind of inward dialogue.
What’s the big deal? You already admitted you’re mad at yourself.
He’ll think I’m silly for getting so worked up.
Well, I can’t argue with you there. But ya gotta realize something. YOU’VE ALREADY BEEN BEING PRETTY DAMN SILLY! I mean, seriously?! You got your panties in a twist because he did something you never gave yourself the chance to?
Shut up.
…You realize saying that is pretty damn redundant. I am you, therefore you can shut me up anytime.
Yeah, I know. I just felt like saying it.
Getting back to what we were actually talking about – come on, what’s the worse he can do? Laugh?
You know I don’t like being laughed at.
Darling, no one does. Just say it already. If you don’t, I will.
Now look who’s being redundant.
She bit her tongue and raked her teeth across it, then suddenly looked him straight in the face. “I’m mad at myself because I never let myself go anywhere just because I could. Not once in a hundred years,” she said, starting quietly and then getting louder. “Yes I moved around, like any immortal has to do, but I didn’t choose the locations most of the time. I never took the nomad life, and only now that I’m trapped under New York do I realize how much I wish I had. I mean, do you really think we’ll ever win this war with the humans? And even if we do, I doubt there’s any freaking chance that I could just stroll down a street without worrying about someone realizing what I am. I had more than a century of opportunities to travel and see the world, and now I’ll probably never get to spend another century aboveground. I told you: I miss the sun.” Her mouth snapped shut and she stared somewhere over his head.

Remiel just sat there quietly, listening to Angel as she spoke, not interrupting and letting her rant a bit. When she finished she could undertake why she was upset and why she acted hat way towards him after he had told her all about his travels. He felt sorta bad since he now understood how she felt. He noticed that she wasn't looking at him, so he gently cupped her face in his hands and tilted her face down so she was looking at him. "Aww, Ang, I...I wish I would have known. I feel bad for telling you now what I all did over he past seven years. You know I would have taken you with me in a heartbeat, right? The only reason I didn't ask if you wanted to come with was because working on your ability and practicing it seemed so important to you," he explained, pausing for a moment before speaking again.
"What you were doing seemed so important to you that I didn't want to distract you by asking if you wanted to come. I mean, what you do and how mug you've advanced with your ability is amazing! And you've helped so many people that sometimes I'm actually envious of you because you're able to actually help people, unlike me. What you do is truly amazing," he said, speaking softly at the end. He was staring into her eyes and softly ran his thumb over her cheek. Although a second later he realized what he had done and felt embarrassed and also realized that he was still cupping her face in his hands so he removed his hands from her cheek, clearing his throat awkwardly, before speaking once more. "And, if you truly miss seeing the sun that bad, I'm sure as long as we're not doing a mission and near the super humans, we could spend a short time above ground," he suggested with a small smile.
